I would strongly advise against buying triangle stones. First of all they are not designed to be used with sharpmaker(nominal size the same, but variation from nominal much large than on sharpmaker rods) so some of them will not fit into base, some of them will be too loose, some will be kind of OK...

So a tiny bit of thread necromancy here... First off hats off to bh49 and AJF for this, great idea. Thanks. My question is will the moldmaster "stones" be adequate for sharpening and re-profiling steels such as M4, M390, and ZDP-189? Will I have to be concerned about wear to the stones fro...

Mine was a gritty when I got it, threw some lubricant in there, did some opening and closing, and now it is smooth as glass.

If I was at a steak place and the knives they suppled wouldn't cut it then I am really at the wrong place all the way around so I would just get up an leave and never go back. If a steak is cooked properly one should be able to cut it with a butter knife, if not then it's not worth eating in the 1s...

I would add that the Manix 2 is one sweet deal for the price. You are getting a lot of quality for what is it? $70 dollars? It is the knife that got me hooked on Spyderco's. I have beaten and beaten my Manix 2 and it has shown very little sign of wear, you just have to love the Ball Bearing Lock and...

How does the Manix XL compare to the original Manix as far as size?

Am I alone in liking the rockish / burlish looking handles shown in the catalog?

Sent mine in a couple weeks ago for this exact issue, arrived in Golden on the 30th of December, haven't heard anything about cost of repair. What is the normal turn around for knives sent in?

Yeah what seems to help for me is cutting more with the tip or running as little of the unnecessary blade through as possible. If that makes sense.
