Looks like it boils down to:
1. H1 knife can rust -> Possible
2. H1 steel can rust -> No way*


*with enough chemicals and proper lab equipment I am sure one can make H1 oxidize.

Did the exposed steel rust (bevels)? I can only see spots on the coating.
