Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
Two things amaze me: the ability of one human to dramatically mischaracterize what another has said pretty clearly, and the massive widespread misunderstanding we’re only recently beginning to move past over the difference between toughness and edge stability. Toughness is perhaps the most overrated...

Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
Dunno about 76, but I would gladly own a version of every knife in my collection in Rex 45… right up there with k390 as an all-around excellent edc, but for very different reasons. Happy Rextober!

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
You just got me even more excited with your "king of the k390/10v range" summary, thank you! Maxamet never won me over like K390 did from M4, so I'm curious as to how this will feel in comparison. If it behaves more like K390 but cuts as long as Maxamet I'll likely be asking for more 15v!...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
Thanks Shawn, I think that needed to be said. It will be sad when the collectors get their hands on this knife, just to collect dust. Or the folks that will use it for peppers, apples and strawberries...but feel the need for this kind of steel for some reason, and sadly that's probably where a majo...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
Finally so I can lean more why would someone chose 15v over S90V? They are booth around the same toughness, have about the same edge retention but 15v is not stainless. That's a good question, and a question that I've wondered about also. I think there might be more to it than this. I've seen some ...

Re: Tool Steel Conundrum
Earlier today I was dismayed to discover a ton of rust spots on my m4 Manix. Don’t know what I cut and didn’t clean off but it sure made its presence known. Cut some cardboard with it, it performed well but I discovered I must have left a tiiiiiny burr intact last time I sharpened it. Did a quick to...

Re: Problems with k390 Spyderco knives
I’ll be honest, I’ll never understand why people care about this. All my knives have uneven grinds because that’s a major weak area in my sharpening skills.

Re: Lil Para
I feel like a hump that size on a handle that short would make it almost impossible to get a good grip on it…. So I can’t say I think this is a “good” idea. That said, “good” is subjective. If you’ve considered the ergos and you’re still confident this knife would make you happy, I hope you get it a...

Haven’t jumped on the Millie train yet but I’d buy that one in a heartbeat.

Re: M398 Steel Testing – Edge Retention, Toughness, and More
I can’t for the life of me figure out why people still want this steel after reading Larrin’s article…. There are so many other steels I’d rather see them explore. I don't think Rex45 got a glowing review from Larrin, but a lot of people still love it in their knives. I do. And I know you like usin...

Re: M398 Steel Testing – Edge Retention, Toughness, and More
Hi Aaron, We'll get to them as well. We can do about 4 per year. "Better" is an interesting view. I usually try to think, at least with regards to steel, is "All good, just different". Some will hold an edge longer, some are more corrosion resistant, some are tougher, some a goo...

I don’t think I’d ever choose regular production that I can pick up in the future over a sprint right now.
