Very nice photography. That is a 642, correct? I would be careful taking your S&W in the water. It's not quite made of H1. ;)

This seems pretty normal with CE's, from what I can tell. The CE Millie I had was like that, as well as my CE Endura Wave. It's a function of the whole blade being chisel ground. To completely even out both sides would leave the serrations hanging down below the PE bit, which would probably look a b...

That's what I thought but I just wanted to be sure. :p Does Krein charge a flat rate per knife or is it all custom prices? Last I knew, it was $35.00 per blade + $10.00 return registered shipping. He also charges an extra $10.00 for grinding stuff like ZDP-189 and S90V--any of the really hard super...

Firstly, welcome to Spydeville, Farmer! Secondly, I'm sure you could call the Spyderco Factory Outlet, and ask to buy a polished Endura/Delica clip (Police 3 uses the same clip).

Another option is to remove the paint and polish it yourself. Many people here have done it.

Do those regrinds alter the heat-treating properties of the steel? I was thinking about having my Salt 1 reground by Krein but I don't want the H1 steel to lose it's rust resistant properties. Not a thing to worry about. Tom assured me that since he grinds blades without gloves, he stops to cool th...

Since you're using the SOG mainly for the pliers, I think you'll be very, very satisfied with it. I've used my Powerlock to cut things that my Leathermans can't even touch.

You can unscrew it with a pair of nickels, and carefully bend the clip according to your taste. However, I've noticed that Salt clips are generally pretty tight anyway.

That silver E1B deal is pretty good. If I hadn't just picked up a T1A Titan, I'd probably get another E1B. You can definitely score some great deals on CPFM and the BS&T section of CPF. I almost never buy retail lights anymore because I kick myself when I see the same lights going for 25-30% le...

I've owned quite a few (in the following order of acquisition): -Schrade Tough Tool: Decent tool, but I find the sideways handles to be a bit awkward when using the internal implements. The handles also flex quite a bit. I've since sold mine. -Leatherman Wave (original): Very well built, fit, and fi...

My recent combo has been: -Krein'd ZDP Endura -Surefire E1B Backup (silver) -Leatherman Charge TTi I also occasionally carry my Surefire Z2 with Malkoff M60, but the E1B has been a pocket hawg due to its (lack of) size and excellent clip. The fact that's a little throw monster gets it a bit more poc...
