I had one of the Plain edge sprints. It was a great knife except for one thing....tip down only carry. That thing was knuckle shredder if you needed to get in your pocket for keys.
I’d like another, but it would have to be tip up.

Re: 2018 Bladesports Championship
I was at market hall yesterday as well. I think I’m going to build me a camp chopper loosely based on the comp choppers i saw. Honestly it’s a interesting sport we should all get behind. It it is truly fun to watch.

Re: C60 GP Sprint Run: Ayoob
The one I had was very nice. The only thing I didn't like about it was tip down only carry.
I imagine a good wash with hot soapy water in the pivot area and a little lube after it dries will help the action a little on yours.

They must not be as popular as they used to be. I was trying to sell my used TI plain edge Lum Tanto for what I assumed was a very reasonable price recently, and the guy returned it.

Cold steel Golden Eye ?
Not trying to break any rules here, but is it me reading more in to a name than what is there?
The knives have a opening feature that Spyderco is known for plus they use the word Golden in the name?
It all seems in poor taste to me.

Re: Blending EDC with Self Defense
Why would a military be too heavy to carry in shorts? It is probably lighter than a Para. One of the full SE models would fit the bill.

Re: Dull Blade
CC13, I have personally owned 75+ Spyderco knives through the years. One thing was consistent, they were all/ have been sharp. It's true some were sharper than others, but all were shaving sharp. Not saying that there aren't any that don't occasionally slip out that aren't sharp, but it isn't the no...

It makes more sense to me to be able to use the same liners all across the board instead of inventorying two separate parts.

I prefer the Manix 2. Can't put my finger really on why I don't care for the Para 2. I have handled several versions, just never really warmed up to it.

Re: Spyderco and heat-treat consistency
Just as everything else in life nothing is the same. I imagine there are subtle differences from blade to blade. One blade could be closer to the heating coils in the HT oven, one blade could be quenched slightly longer, etc , etc. I have to claim my ignorance as to if S110v is a air hardening steel...

Re: ATR Goodness!!
I traded for a NIB one with fullteefs the other day myself. This is one of those models that looks great in full SE.
I used to own a plain edge years ago, and traded it to a good friend of mine since he always went nuts over it.

Blade forums pop up ads
Has anyone besides me been having problems on blade forums with Pop up ads and redirects. I like to go over there and browse the handmade knives , sheaths and such forum, as well as the for sale forums. I can't click on anything without being redirected.

Re: Customer makers with the best fit and finish?
I like brut de forge finishes, but even they can look sloppy if not done right. Uneven grind lines, plunge cuts, and handle fit up are unacceptable in my opinion. If all of those qualities are met it can be beautiful. I like the texture it adds to a knife when a forge finish is well executed. I also...

Re: Customer makers with the best fit and finish?
You will see a lot of non "MS" makers that build better knives a lot of times, which is sad. You can go on the custom and handmade forum on Blade Forums and see some truly exceptional knives that are being built by people that do not have the MS title. I have seen a few knives in person th...

Re: How to improve the Manix 2
I can't see how any of those "improvements" would amount to anything. You can already buy a XL If you need a longer blade? The only improvement that can be made would to be to change out the plastic ball cage for aluminum or something. It's a great knife as it is, but that would be icing o...

Maybe try loosening the stop pin and rotate it. See if that helps. Could be a little wear on the stop pin.

I have a Tatanka, and love it. Beware if you are concerned if it is sheeple friendly, it is quite large.
