Re: 2019 Spyderco Catalog Predictions

I hope a Para 3 Salt and a Lil Native Salt, both Compression Locks in LC200N PE and both with full liners and fully rust proof hardware a la Caribbean. Would love the wire clip for both but I doubt that would be likely to happen for the Para 3.

Re: Overturning of Knife Restrictions

Good piece. Thanks for putting it up in the forum. I didn’t know about Knife Rights but will look into them. The knife laws were I live are really restrictive but unclear at the same time. They essentially prohibit the carrying of any knife unless you have a legitimate reason for carrying it but wha...

I would like to test and use LC200N in my favorite knives:
Para 3,Dfly, Lil Native -yellow handle, plain edge.
I like how you think. Maybe a different scale color, like bright red, to distinguish from H-1 Salt models.

Re: Lil' Native Compression v.s. Lockback

I have the LIl Native Compression Lock version. It is my daily office carry and is amazing. I used to carry a DF2 but prefer the Lil Native because it feels more stout, has little extra blade and has the comp lock, which is more fun to lay with. For office carry, I prefer blade lengths actually unde...

Re: H1 vs. LC200n...Real World Observations

Today, I spent the afternoon at the beach. Took my Salt 1 with me. The blade was submerged in the ocean for three hours straight. After, I went for really late lunch/early dinner without rinsing the knife or anything. Got home at about 8:30pm. The blade was impeccable except for some superficial rus...

Re: Poll: Lil Native LW

OK, you Lil’ Native owners, does it or a LW version need jimping? I am glad my Rhino doesn’t have that. I can see it on a larger knife, especially when one is doing harder work or wearing gloves but I should think it adds little and detracts from the overall feel of the Lil’ Native. I believe the L...

Re: Poll: Lil Native LW

Add the jimping back to the choil and I'm in. I'm assuming we are talking about the back lock model for a salt? Have they ever made a compression lock liner that is rust proof? Yes, do add the jimping. And yes, Spyderco has made a compression lock that is rust proof, the Caribbean. I believe the li...

Lil Native Salt

LC200N or Vanax and bright red scales with full rust proof liners (for the comp lock) and hardware.

Re: The Delica Always Creeping In

I have the same “problem”. I have fancier knives. I have knives in better steels. I have knives I enjoy more. But for some reason I can’t explain, when I am in the house or if I am going to run errands, I keep reaching for the Delica. I think that is a testament to how great a design the D4 is.

Little Native Compression Lock and Para 3, both in PE LC200N or Vanax, with full rust proof liners and hardware and G-10/CF scales (a la Sage 5).

Lc200n in the Seki city models.
This.

A DF2 and a Delica/Salt 2 in PE LC200N would be fantastic, preferably bright red scales to keep the high visibility in water and to distinguish them from the bright yellow H-1 versions.

Re: H1 vs. LC200n...Real World Observations

I haven’t tested either to their limits as far as toughness goes but I can tell you that the edge on Lc200n will definitely roll before it chips. It’s higher hardness/greater strength though means it will roll less easily than H1. I would assume that same hardness would mean it’s not quite as crazy...

Re: H1 vs. LC200n...Real World Observations

Surfingringo, one of the good things about H-1 is its toughness. Edges in H-1 seem to roll rather than chip if the edge hits something hard. How does LC200N compare in this regard?

Re: H1 vs. LC200n...Real World Observations

Great thread, Surfingringo. Looking forward to reading about your experiences regarding ease of sharpening with both steels. I haven’t tried LC200N and have tried H-1 only in PE. Like you, I live in a fairly corrosive environment (Puerto Rico, an island in the Caribbean) and have found H-1 to be im...

Re: Time Frame for LC200N Knives?

For me the DF2 is almost perfect. If there was going to be a DF3, I would add 1/5 of an inch, to maximize the blade length but still keep it under 2.5”, and I would move the wire clip further to the end of the handle to make it truly deep carry. LC200N in PE with bright red scales and full liners wo...

Sal and Surfingringo, thanks for the clarification. I live in Puerto Rico, so corrosion resistance is high on my list, since I am often in or close to the sea.
