Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
The SpydieChef is a fabulous skinner. My Siren has been relegated more to fish cleaning.

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
Again I think it would be extremely important for the overall popularity of the Catcherman model for them to make a fully serrated version of it. Why they ever quit offering the Catcherman in full SE really baffles me. Especially as well as it performs with TEETH. My older AUS-8, full SE version ( ...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Growing up, almost every red blooded American kid sported a Buck 110 in a black leather pouch on their belt. Almost mandatory dress code.......even for school attire.

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
I use a Police 4 LW K390 serrated. I don’t cut the sternum I just reach in and pull everything out. It is long enough I can cut the butt hole out so I don’t have to saw any bone. Worked great K390 is much tougher than S110V but it rusts if you look at it wrong. I forced a patina seems to help. I ha...

Pair any knife of your choosing with a small compact light folding saw. For me, that would be a SpydieChef.

Re: A full size Native slipjoint?
Slippies are category in which Spyderco has barely dipped their toe. Wisely chosen models could broaden that niche for them.....of which the Native is only one of many styles they may wish to consider. Personally, I really do like my UKPK and would rather Spyderco did a model further removed from th...

Re: The Golden Liner Lock
Seen a lot of crappy linerlocks out there, but Golden's seem to be quite good. I try not to let blind COO prejudice govern my decisions and have found Spyderco's Chinese linerlocks to be quite good, also.

Re: Boning Knife Recommendation?
just don't use a steel on the japanese style knives.....steels are too hard. Not sure of what you mean by steels are too hard. A steel is too hard on a blade if you whack away at it like Gordon Ramsey, but otherwise, I find the use of a smoothe steel quite useful on knives below 61-62 HRC......if u...

Which Dexters are you using? Sani-safe or wood handled carbon steel? Sani-safe. Mine seem to dull very quickly. I would guess the carbon steel is better? The overwhelming choice among butchers is Dexter wood handled carbon steel along with an F Dick steel hone in an aluminum scabbard hanging from a...

Re: Why Do Seki Models Have Lock Rock??!!
Can't see Spyderco putting out an unsafe lock. May be a function of the lightweight linerless design, but very annoying. When it comes to lock rock, even the Chinese Byrd lock backs are far superior.. Interesting note there about the Byrds. Although, both the Leafjumper the Endela FRN still have re...

Re: What makes a steel 'aggressive'?
Easy: it does not exist... Yeah, I read your "it's your imagination" post earlier. Now your explanation is that I have psychological problems, that I "need to feel cool," and that I am a dupe of marketing hype. No steel is more aggressive than VG-10 or 420HC. OK, I read your pos...
