Re: In Defense of Liners
Carry a Salt 1 for a few months and then tell me about the action. I have a pile of Salt series knives and they are all super smooth. I drop them in the the dirt, cut muddy vegetation, stick them back in my pocket and if needed, take them in the shower for a rinse at the end of the day. No drying re...

Depending on where you travel internationally, non-locking is going to be the safer thing to carry legally.

You can clean micarta and then start the whole patina process again.

Re: Magnacut
I'm personally not really in the Magnacut hype camp, edge retention numbers seem lower than even S30V. I feel the same way. Correct. S30V has better edge retention than MagnaCut. However, Magnacut is ~3x tougher than S30V with a much more stable edge... Which means you can take MagnaCut much thinne...

Re: Magnacut
I've got a Deka in Magnacut, so far so good. I'd say whatever Spyderco puts out in it, people will buy. You can pre-order a native, but that's it right now. Spyderco might have been first, but lots of others have made Magnacut somewhat easily available.

Re: Best Spyderco budget beater knife.
Heya folks, I'm Matt in New York, a knife newb but a budding Spyderco fan. I currently have the Astute and Tenacious, working my way up to higher ticket knives with my eyes on the Lynch NW modded Para 2. This may have been covered elsewhere (but the search feature is not being helpful) but has anyo...

Japanese knife makers TwoSun Vosteed 14c28n Those knives are made in China and 14c28n is not better. Unless your post is meant to refer to other unnamed Japanese knife makers, comparisons like this can mislead people who are trying to compare Spyderco/Carter with similar products. 2 different state...

Re: Who's Buying Murray Carter Spyderco???
I am perplexed by some of their pricing. I can't see spending over $200 for an injection molded Chef's knife when there are better handle materials and steels available from a number of Japanese knife makers in that price range. I have been happy with a TwoSun chef's knife in 14C28N that cost me all...

Guessing the Military 2 with a comp lock is somewhere close to production if they entered it into the competition.

Re: No more HH UKPK?
Well, this is quickly going political/conspiratorial... But seriously, if you think Covid doesn't still have an effect on production I would ask that you talk to someone working in a production situation. My wife works at a small manufacturer and having 6 people out with Covid recently set them back...

I have since nabbed a blue Nishijin 2nd and it is very nice as a dress knife. I still like the D'fly better as a user. Can you speak a bit about why you prefer the DF? I have a couple dragonfly’s that don’t see pocket time (one lives in a dish on the counter and the other is slated for my ski pack)...
