Topic: How Many Carry Neck Knives?

There are a lot of guys here who I would not argue with (Dr. Snubnose for one) about their opinions and neckers but personally, I just don't find a good way to utilize one. I carry my fixed blades (which is what I rely on most) in a Mercharness. After some years of doing this, I'm not sure why anyon...

Okay, some knives offer hidden or not so hidden features, like Victorinox's Swiss Army Knife. The question I have rolling in my head are: How can we fit other purposes on a folding knife? Tools that could be useful to me: Flathead Screwdriver (can double as a prying tool), Bottle Opener, Glass Brea...

EDC use

I mostly cut throats and various limbs and do my best to avoid Dr. Snubnose. I find that when I'm hanging out in afterhours joints looking to ripoff coke dealers, it's best not to depend on my diminished capacities to operate a folder, so I primarily carry a pair of mules in a McHarness. I do,...

What dulls our blades most?

As I was hacking my way through a blisterpack today (Gawd I'd like to use my blade on the jerky that thought them up), I began to wonder... Just what dulls a blade quickest? I'm not talking here about trying to cut the cell bars with your dragonfly, I'm talking about TYPICAL EDC use. That would be l...

someone who is already checking a plethora of vendors multiple times per day could volunteer to start a "spydietweet" service, using twitter to make announcements about knives that are newly available. then interested parties could just follow them on twitter, receiving instantaneous upda...

Good Lord, what did I start?? I hope everyone understands that my post was totally tongue in cheek. It should be obvious that someone who checks this forum several times a day (I admit it) is badly spyderbit :D Anyway, Sal- thanks for the reply but I hate the thought of you wasting your time r...

New Product Announcements...GRRRRR

I don't know about the rest of you knife knuts but I check this forum way too often. I'm really sick of seeing the kiwi stag crapola while I'm waiting not so patiently for the release of a lot of new knives. When something has been sitting there for way over 30 days it ain't a new product announceme...

Cpm10v

I have some experience with this stuff. I worked in a place that made high tolerance chucks (not drill chucks) these things held .000001" TIR. We used CPM10V to replace diamond coated jaws because they were wearing out too fast. These things wre doing 1000's of cycles per hour 24/7 holding carb...

What type SS is used for handles?

I acquired an older (G-2 stainless blade) Police knife. By the look of the handle it was EDC'd but the blade looks to have never been used. I decided that I wanted to put my own patina on it and began polishing the handle. I have been able to get it almost but not quite to mirror and I'm wondering n...

This thread is really interesting. Either there are a LOT of southpaws on this forum or a lot of them are sensitive to locks and issues thereof. I'm comfortable with back locks and I'm beginning to get OK with liner locks but don't care for frame locks at all. Grumpy (also of the sinister persuasion)

I'd like to see a few small utilitarian fixed blades or gent's fixed blades or fixed pocket knives. Not that I'm not happy with my Krein custom TK11 or Dogfish, but I'd like to see Spyderco try the genre. The Swick/SPOT variants are a little too 'tactical' for my tastes. Yes! More fixed blades! For...
