Saddly the only place I know of that sells some decent knives (even though they're Benchmade) is Andy & Bax. I'll have to swing by that place on Hawthorne some time though... Buying Benchmades in Portland has never been a problem - that's where the company is located! Perhaps it's the Benchmade...

Probably a bit of all three! High expectations, somewhat unlucky, and a smaller sample size. About 12 total. I haven't purchased any Taichung models, so perhaps I haven't seen the best quality Spyderco has to offer (according to many members). I agree that Spyderco is a great company, and I apprecia...

Thanks for the responses. I did send my Para 2 to Spyderco yesterday. They advised me that there are no replacement 20CP blades available, so if they honor the warranty I will likely receive a credit to purchase another knife off their website (at full MSRP). The blade is not otherwise repairable (w...

Another issue is that BBS doesn't offer returns - all sales final.

I figured this out the hard way (failed to read the fine print, which actually wasn't so fine).

Portland, OR dealers?

I live in southwest WA and would like to find a local-ish dealer that carries an extensive collection of Spydercos. I figure Portland is the more likely possibility. I've checked the dealers listed on Spyderco's website for Vancouver, WA and Portland. One company listed under both cities no longer e...

I sold mine to someone who needed it more because my sharpener will tell me what angle is on an edge when I sharpen a knife. In fact I've used it to determine the angle on brand new Spyderco knives right out of the box. If your sharpener won't do that the Spyderco edge angle guide is nice to have. ...

I've got one model with G10 (P'kal) and one with peel ply CF (Stretch ZDP. Actually two of them). The feel and "gription" is very similar between the two. The CF is certainly more attractive, and I would rate it as slightly more durable as well. I don't care as much for the woven CF on the...

I agree. I want a M390 Para for on-duty use, and the blue is a no-go. Foliage green would have been perfect.

First post. . .

G11 is just the thing that would make the Spyderco collectors go absolutely nuts, if it were offered as a factory option. See Kevin Wilkins' web page for examples (check out the Britannia and the Leafstorm).
