I'd also love to hear some more experiences with different grits. I've tried sharpening my Rex45 Military to 600 grit and was not as happy with the results as I expected. It had a nice toothy edge, but lost the "bite" quickly.

Re: Me New Motto Mates!
I think it depends on the steel. Anything in 3V, Cruwear or 4V sells instantly. Knives in K390 and M390 also sell very fast. But on the other hand, the first Rex 45 sprints from 2018 took over a year to sell out . This new batch of Rex 45 sprints seem to be selling faster. I suspect that's because ...

Re: Me New Motto Mates!
I do not see the problem. I've been able to get any sprints/exclusives I was interested in. Just set a reminder and be ready when the drop happens. I understand shops not wanting to sit on a few thousand units of pricy exclusives if they don't sell as quickly as expected. This is a very niche produc...

Re: Mule Team
Pre-orders sound like a really good idea. Spyderco could even do a conditional pre-order where they just didn't move the knife into production if there weren't enough orders placed, and just refunded everyone (or didn't charge them at all). Pre-orders would also defeat the flipping that plagued som...

Maxamet for sure. It can develop a patina and gives you the best edge character. You really have to use it to get an understanding for how useful an aggressive edge is.

The Watu for me too! I'm really happy it's in 20CV instead of the standard S30V. I was all set to get a Chaparral LW, but I might have to rethink this.

Re: I Don't Get The "Spydie-Flick."
I primarily spydieflick. I find it to be easier, faster, and more reliable than tumbflicking. It also lands your hand in a more natural grip when the blade is deployed.

I feel the same, I love everything about it including the smooth CF and no jimping. If they did a sprint I would love to see them use LC200N, Ti Liners, Marbled CF and maybe a yellow backspacer to designate a Salt model. I can’t wait to see the Slip Joint collaboration! I like this idea, especially...

Re: Best Edge Performance Steel between these choices?
It's without a doubt Maxamet for me. That edge aggression, even at finer grit finishings it mind-blowing. I just can't get over the way it bites in to things that lesser steels slide off of. It also surprisingly easy to sharpen. I was easily able to sharpen it on a lansky 600 grit diamond stones. It...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
Is no one going to talk about the Mule Team having more on the way? I for one can't wait to hear what kind of steel they will be. Vanax/cron? They'd be so expensive, I might have a chance to get one before they sold out. I will! :) I'm thrilled by this. I really hope we get a Rex121 version, and a ...

Re: Dear Sal & Eric
I do have a suggestion for anyone watching if it is possible sell the knives with a non color and then offer coloring kits as an accessory. Dying the light colors to others is pretty easy and satisfying. I like that idea. Easter egg edition I've often thought it'd be nice if base models came in whi...

Re: Most Fidget Friendly Knife
Most fidgety for me is the PM2. It's really addicting. Second would be the Shaman. The big chamfer around the lock bar allows you to disengage the comp lock with many different fingers/grips.
Smock seems like it should be up there too but I haven't had the pleasure of fidgeting with one yet.

Re: 2020 reveal predictions?
I'm with the consensus on this one - I don't think a Millie LW is happening. It's already a very lightweight design and there's probably little demand for it. PM2 LW is practically inevitable after the success of the P3 LW. I'm really hoping to see an LC200N Kapara, Millie 2 (probably later in the y...

Yeah I missed out on that and the Sprig.
