I think there is no greater satisfaction than taking something that was used, abused, and discarded, and turning it back into a working, functional tool.

Would have to be a CPM440V Native - first Spyderco I bought.

Funny thing was, I picked it because I thought the Delicas and Enduras with their "hole hump" were ugly as sin - now the Delica's my favorite!

Haha, that cracked me up. Yeah, I know Benchmade has one. I hear people complain that it is poor quality. I'd like to see a tool kit made with Spyderco quality. Not that Benchmade makes products that are poor quality, I've just heard reports that their tool kit was not up to the quality demonstrate...

I love my Para but they didn't have good QC on the clips. Mine had burrs from the stamping like razor edges. I took it off, deburred it and relieved the edges, then powder coated it satin black again.

Mine's Gin-1. There might have been other steels but I've never seen a non-G10 version. They were made in Seki City.

What I wonder is: Do I need to clean it?....if so with what and how often? Do I need to oil it?....if so with what and how often? Do any of you clean your blades off when you cut into a box and that packing tape adhesive gets all over your blade? Sincerely, David (Fisher of Men) David, 1. Warm soap...

I wonder if part of the problem with promotional items is it would be mostly the "Bug Nuts" that would buy them and the average everyday Spyderco buyer wouldn't be interested. I suspect that's more true than people here realize. I was at an annual celebration for a volunteer organization ...

Umm, nothing against you personally, but there's a sure-fire way to win what you're bidding on - just be willing to pay more than the next guy. I'm with jsholli - an open auction is fair game. I buy things there regularly (and have since 1997) and if I get outbid, then cést la vie... so be it. Actua...

Green Scotchbrite. It's what they use to finish the SS handles at the factory.

Well, I'll bust that average. I'm 44 and have been carrying knives since my Granddad gave me a Boy Scout knife at the age of 9 or so.

Spyderco is a more recent addition to my collection - I bought my first Spyderco around March of 2002. I'm up to about 35 of them now.

Lock strength aside, one point in its favor is that they do make a Delica Trainer.

It's been said on multiple occasions in no uncertain terms that there is no selling or trading allowed here, regardless of how anyone might try to wordsmith the meaning. That being said, there are numerous good avenues to sell knives out there. Knifeforums is free, although they ask a token donation...

LOL as with Ken and Janner, when I bought my first Buck knife, Spyderco wasn't even around... and I suspect Bassist wasn't either. That Buck 110 has served me for 30 years. I like Spydercos, but I'm sure not going to say one's better than the other, at least till my oldest Spydie has been tickin' 30...
