Re: Share your mishaps

I was making a square grove in a board and had the edge facing my left hand. Underestimating the amount of force I was putting into the cut, when the knife slipped I ever so slightly tapped the inside of my thumb. It went into the bone but by some miracle missed both tendons and nerves. I remember t...

Re: June Hawkbill Challenge

A full flat grind would have made things a lot easier. Took me about 10 minutes to saw it into 20 little pieces and stuff it in the recycling bin. That looked like a lot of work! I wonder if the blade shape isn't possible to make in full flat? Maybe someone can give us some feedback. Is it time for...

Re: June Hawkbill Challenge

I kind of got off to a head start with the June part of the challenge but I got inspired so here we are. I hadn't carried the Hawkbill for a little while and since I usually have a PE blade and a SE blade on me it was a small change and not much adjustment. One observation I've made is that a hawkbi...

Wow, no one else likes these models? Sad, as you are really missing out on some very nice knives.
I really like the look of the Pattadese! Such a slicy blade would be great to own. I really like the classic look of these two models as well!

Concidering all the years I got by not EDCing any knife at all, I'll probably do just fine with only a hawkbill :)

Ohh... and the Next gen... very tempting
Sssh don't tell anyone!

The next gen is really really nice....

Re: June Hawkbill Challenge

This is my most probable carry for June: https://i.imgur.com/7PtgPFr.jpg Hawkbill in Meadowlark clothing and a LT Wright Next gen. I really look forward to a longer slimmer Enuff. Or maybe a sprint Street Beat. I wouldn't mind a Spyderco EDC fixed blade but the Enuff is to thick and the SBs VG10 doe...

Re: June Hawkbill Challenge

You know what, I'll join in! It won't be my only knife, it will be as an addition to my edc fixed blade and I'll use them equally and evaluate their pros and cons in all tasks. In general, a Spyderedge gives you a hundred small hawkbills even in a leaf shaped blade. A few days ago I carried the hawk...

My initial reaction was that this would be pretty much impossible, but thinking some more about what I actually use my EDC knife for, I think it would be totally doable.

Only problem.... I don’t have one :(
For an inexpensive test, try the Byrd Hawkbill. I find that to be a great knife!

Re: I will now EDC a Jumpmaster 2 for 1 year

I can't seem to find the pictures but I've carried a fixed blade with a dangler on the sheath in my pocket. The handle stuck out but the knife would move when I sat down and anything else. It was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. Also made resheathing a lot easier. Of course if you...

Re: Sharpening Sprints and Exclusives

Yes! I have one exclusive, a S90V orange Native from cutlery shoppe, and I've have sharpened it many times. I bought it specifically for use. I don't feel like I can afford to buy a knife just for its collection value. I have knives that I don't see the use for but that I still would like to own, bu...

Re: Random guys honest assessment of the Slysz Bowie.

They are similar in size, but obviously the blade shapes are quite different. For my preferences and line of work, I find the Bowie shaped blade a bit tough to get used to. Really have to crank my wrist to utilize the tip, where the Insingo blade on the CRK is much better suited for my duties. The ...

If nerdlock feels a bit salty that Knifejoy won't support international customers he's perfectly entitled to express that. I have no problem with someone expressing their disappointment with something. But doing it over and over gets old real fast. That's my opinion. I won't express it again. Sorry...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

i've recently found another great use for the spyderedge. it makes an amazing back scratcher. you have to be pretty careful, but it's so good. my sheepsfoot caribbean especially excels with the rounded tip and nearly wharncliffe edge. You are a braver person than me :D or dumber...? 🤣 Well my dumba...

Re: Lanyard/Fob Preferences

I use it on my Dragonfly and on my Roadie to extend the grip. In the Roadie it catches my little finger and in the DF it allows me to choke back and extend the reach a bit. On larger knives than that I've only ever used it to tie it to my pants while hiking far away from civilisation. Otherwise I ju...

Re: Runners and knives

I don't have any salt knives yet but my VG10 Endela and S90V Native haven't rusted on so I'm not really on the hunt for something more rust proof. Often I'll remember to rinse them with water but not everytime and fortunately nothing has rusted yet. I always have them inside the waist band, it seems...
