Re: Sharpening S110V

He challenged me to bend some rope into a loop put the knife in the loop and try to cut out. So I did and it certainly didn't cut anything like a coarse edge does. In fact it slid a lot like a blunt blade would. I'm not seeing it, welcome clarification from you or any other poster. When I first got...

Re: Sharpening S110V

My highly polished edges cut rope great, honestly can't answer on the fish bones as I'm an electric knife guy when it's time to filet my catch. Maybe I'm using the wrong rope - what rope are you finding polished edges won't cut? David I've found difficulty in cutting any of the synthetics and natur...

Re: Sharpening S110V

G'day clovehitch, :) The refined edge versus the coarse edge debate rages here from time to time and we ultimately agree to disagree. Somethings just don't change. A couple of things being, a super refined edge won't cut rope and it won't cut through fish bones. ;) A few of the brothers ...

The way Amazon works is, they have distribution centers all over the place. These are essentially huge versions of what you might see in the back room of Target or Walmart. They have teams of "pickers" who go around pulling items from bar coded bins and then another team that packs and la...

Re: Sticky Para 3 S110V

Before you rotate the stop pin, there's one more possible easy fix. Grab a piece of wood (2x4) or similar and spend a little time cutting hard into the wood. I've had several sticky PM2s cured with this.

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

Hi Canazes, I guess I'll take your word for it. Although I must say your "style" of communication is sending another signal. Regarding parts; We make hundreds of models. We make thousands of knives in 5 different countries. They don't use the same screws, clips and washers and we are cons...

Re: Disapointed with customer service..

I don’t like the idea of cranking down the pivot and working the action, as I see it the plastic bearings cages could be damaged in doing so Those plastic bearings only hold the bearings together, they don't bear any load whatsoever. Canazes9 you wanna talk trash and say they'll just send you junk ...

Hi Canazes, I appears that you do not like our company, our products, our policies or me. Why are you here? We try to enjoy our time on the forums. You just like stirring sh*t or what? sal Actually Sal, I like the company and the products a lot. I think the Gayle Bradley 2 is the best pocket knife ...

Re: Disapointed with customer service..

One thing I imagine would work would be to crank the pivot and just work the action. In theory, it should roll out the dents. I've proven that this works but nobody cares. Yes you did, but on my example, the washer cracked when I tried this suggestion. I should have sent it in. I replaced the crack...

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

There was a note in the box with your new knife explaining that the stiff pivot would wear in and the action would smooth up if you just gave it a little time - right? Spyderco take responsibility for the problems you create.... David No, the note said to return it and if it’s a warranty issue they...

WTF are you talking about? Bent = Bent Get over it. David But they are NOT bent! That's what I'm trying to tell you! Please open your mind for a second, and let me explain: Ever hear of an asymmetrical grind? That is where there is a different type of grind on each side of the blade. Bus...

Re: Maxamet PM 2

No. Bent equals BOTH sides of the blade displaced equally, in the same direction, from the centerline of the blade. These blades were NOT bent! Again, go back and read the description of the problem much more carefully. ;) And yes, you're trolling. Painfully obviously so. Do you even own...

Re: Taking apart knives

Spyderco knows the bearings they put in these knives were weak junk. Because the parts are garbage, they can't tell if the problem is due to garbage parts or slight over tightening - solution? Don't put weak, junk parts in your knives. When you realize your knives aren't up to standard, recall them...

Re: Taking apart knives

I fully support the idea of if you disassembled it and broke/lost/dropped in the river then yes it’s yours but as a show of faith in the product if the knife isn’t damaged by the user but was disassembled then your warranty should remain in effect. Just because it’s written down dosnt mean it’s rea...

Re: Taking apart knives

Didn't read all the responses. Spyderco you're staking out a position next to Benchmade on how you treat your customers - think carefully about that. I really don't care how inept some bozo is that disassembles his knife and puts it together wrong, You're punishing me for that. Maybe you should focu...

Re: Taking apart knives

Why are people taking Spyderco knives apart and then returning them? I think that's worth thinking about. Were they too tight? Gritty? I'll admit, a certain fraction of consumers are just jerks, they'll take something apart, break it, and return it. That's just the reality of consumer goods. But if...
