Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Medium voltage cable termination training Do you use the Maxamet PM3 for working cable/wire? Any issues with edge damage? Also, how do you like the new Leatherman? Yeah I used it on the cable today wondering how the edge would hold up. Surprisingly, no visible damage but a section of the belly wasn...

Re: One hand opening

Earlier this year, I had surgery on my dominant hand and couldn't use it for a few weeks. It was very clear to me how important ambidextrous one hand opening AND closing is for my knives. At the time, I was mainly carrying a Benchmade Mini Freek, Byrd Rescue 2, and a Vic Camper. It was fun trying to...

Re: The PERFECT Double Bladed Folder?

I've not owned any of the Dyads, but I'm very interested in the idea of double bladed knives. It's already been said, ergonomics are important. The past Dyads have not appeared at all comfortable in hand (one of a few reasons why I haven't purchased one of the new clipitools). I hope Spyderco can fi...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

I just used the Autonomy to cut open a pack of Pop Tarts... Definitely not in the original design specs😂 The HAP40 took it like a champ ;) My walking stick (see my post above yours) was also cut using HAP 40 steel... and it took that task like a champ either... :p Haha HAP40 truly is a modern day m...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Considering every E4 variant is susceptible to rust, weighs more and has ergonomhcs issues compared to my Pacific Salt, I've moved on. Maybe the Endura 5 will have a better handle. I've long wished for them to use the Cara Cara handle on the Endura line. The Cara Cara is like an Endura 3 with a cho...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Just completed some yard work. Went to the city compost and limb site where I used my Endura to cut open bags of grass clippings and old mulch pulled from the flower beds. Before that, I used my Endura to cut sweet potato and onions for my breakfast. Breakfast looks interesting. What’s in it? Grass...

Looks great! What material are the scales made of? And is this a user or for emergency only?

Re: custom base for sharpmaker

 News of an adjustable angle sharpener from Spyderco is exciting! I had a Sharpmaker a few years ago but wound up selling it because I couldn't match existing angles like I wanted to. After that, I made a really simple adjustable base that can hold lots of different sharpening stones, including...
