Re: Favorite Strop

I’ve been using the Knives Plus strop with good results.

You can get it on Amazon as well.

Re: Spyder Classics: The C-58 JD Smith model

I’ve said it before, this knife needs to come back in it’s original form and not like the monstrosity that was sprinted a few years back.

AEB-L, hollow ground, chamfered burgundy micarta gets my vote. It looks better pinned, but I understand the want for screw construction.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Love all the Hinderers! I’m after a XM24 Bowie myself. I watch his site almost daily, and I’ve past on almost every other model that has come up for sale. He does a lot of XM18 drops that tend to stick around a few hours if that’s what you’re looking for.

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

On the other hand, not that the Subvert is a self defense knife, it has one of the best reverse grips of any knife I own. I would even be interested to hear what Mr. Janich has to say on it as well. The Subvert's blade profile and large belly definitely favor cutting, which it does exceptionally we...

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

There really isn’t anything this knife can’t do as an EDC, at least I haven’t found one. What I can tell you it really excels at is spreading condiments in food prep. I use my knives weekly eating bagel and cream cheese on the go and the Subvert always puts a smile on my face when it’s the one in my...

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

So I had my wife do a blind feel test :winking-tongue

She picked the Carbon Fiber one each of the 5 test. I think the CF is indeed more grippy but not by much to warrant a choice between the two.

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

Oh I’m right there with you! I use all my knives and often daily carry my most expensive Spyderco’s like my Paysan, Drunken and now CF Subvert. I just love this version of the Subvert so much that I might buy another as a backup, or investment, because once everyone realizes how special this one is ...

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

I know what you mean, but nope, it’s satin as satin can be!

I’ll add one thing, this knife is so perfect I might have to buy another one as a safe queen because it’s going to be hard to keep this out of my pocket every day!

Thanks for all the photos Giygas, just saw the Byte as well! Mine should be here tonight, I swear I’m the last UPS stop, and I can’t wait!

That Momba! One of the ones that got away from me.

Re: Left or right-handed knife user?

I don’t use knives in my left hand but I do fidget with knives in my left hand. I actually like fidgeting with righty liner locks more with my left hand because of hole/thumb stud access and pulling the liner to close. If Spyderco made a model in a lefty liner lock I liked I would probably buy that ...

Re: What are your favorite large spyderco folders?

Of that list I chose the Shaman, but I really don’t feel the like the Shaman is that big anymore.

I will probably gravitate to the M2 when the CF/S90V version comes out.

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

The Subvert Sprint Run with 20CV & Solid CF is a relative no brainer at $420.00 considering the regular Subvert S30V & Orange G-10 is $403.20 ! https://i.imgur.com/CcAbnC5.jpg I’m guessing that there is a lot of other material/tooling in the knife to make for difference in price between G10...

Can we get a Ceramic Detent Ball?

I don’t know if this would be a difficult/expensive change, but can we get some Golden models with a ceramic detent ball? It’s just that now that my CRK Inkosi is broken in it has the most satisfying detents of all my knives. There is no way to really describe it unless you have tried it. I would lo...

Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!

Not much talk about this one so I thought I would start a thread. I almost had Carbon Fiber scales made for my Subvert and I’m sure happy I hesitated. This sprint is about as close to a Nati Amor Sabotage as I think I’ll get. If you haven’t handled a Subvert yet you are surly missing out, this thing...

Re: New Spyderco Paysan CQI: defective & disappointing

Has anybody seen any improvement in their lockstick on their Paysan since receiving it? If so how did you manage to get it better? lock insert work honing or possibly deburring the blade tang? Mine is super smooth now! Just kept working the lock, probably well over 1000 times now. It’s now one of m...

Re: Chris Reeve Knives

Nice! That Pacific gives me some Busse vibes. ...the Pacific really is a lot of bang for your buck within the CRK lineup. I've never paid much attention to CRK fixed blades, but this line caught my attention, and made me look at their range. Very interesting to see their FB models in 4V and Magnacu...
