Re: Manix 2 XL in CPM-M4 or Rex-45
I'm not saying I wouldn't love the 4v. I'd eat it up. I'd be hyped for any of those options. I just love HAP-40 so much I'd want something close to it in that knife.
It will be really interesting to see if this ever gets made.

Re: Manix 2 XL in CPM-M4 or Rex-45
The point I was making was, something like m4 is plenty tough enough as it is with the advantage of more wear resistance. Not that I'd kick 3v out of bed for eating crackers. Watch the video from DBH here...M4 still isn't as tough as i would personally like at the edge. Again, i could personally ca...

Re: Newspaper stropping?
Interesting. I find it pretentious saying news paper can't strop things like HAP-40 or S30v. It does. Just with less forgiveness.

Re: Manix 2 XL in CPM-M4 or Rex-45
Or 4v... Honestly. Rex45/m4 and 3v/4v would probably be must buys. But I'd definitely prefer Rex45/M4 by a huge Longshot, in what situation would the need for toughness of 3v/4v even surpass the advantage of hardness/wear resistance of the other mentioned steels? As someone that's taken S30V XL's d...

I prefer the middle ground, tool steels. D2, M4, Hap-40 etc. But I appreciate pretty much every steel.

Re: Future of the PowerLock
Probably because “perfection is not when there’s nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” Spyderco definitely has a minimalist philosophy: nothing more than is necessary. I’m not saying a power lock police wouldn’t be awesome and a novelty, but does it make the police bett...

If it were to be given a backlock I'd definitely want a Powerlock instead. It'd be interesting with a stop lock as well.

I'd like it without a coating personally, but I'd take it with it. I love the "Seasoning" and patina.

I use it at 15DPS with great results. Great enough where I don't run it steeper or leaner.

Manix 2 XL in CPM-M4 or Rex-45
I feel as though it's a heavily overlooked model, it's functionally phenomenal in the kitchen and "Field" whether it be a literal field cutting up a carcass or in an alley cutting up a box. I do find myself desiring this model in a non stainless steel though, especially in the tool range l...
