Re: Bodacious Discussion
I allow myself limited redundancy these days but will be passing on one of my beloved Shaman variants to welcome the PJ version of this into my rotation. Nice work Sal.

Amazing Reveal, my wallet will take a beating. I hope the Spyderco crew took in good humor all the hand wringing and teeth gnashing over it.

Re: Why do knife enthusiasts frequently ignore kitchen knives?
+1 I have some Solingen-made kitchen knives (8" chef, 3.5" paring, 8" bread, soft 1.4116 steel with full bolsters, not really my preference), as well as Spyderco K04 & K05 PE utility knives and a K08 santoku, all of which get abused by other members of the household. Nothing fancy...

You can pick up a C81GPTL2 and dye the scales for less money than a C81GP2.

Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
I imagine it is harder with K390 rather than LC200N, however I don't think reprofiling serrated edges is that common amongst SE knives buyers. So the matter to ponder, when considering the impact on sales, should be whether performing normal edge maintenance (touch ups, not thorough reprofiling) is...

Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
What is the issue here ? There's still some unremoved sharpie line, so you mean you had difficulties sharpening the outer edges of the serrations ? Asking this as a sharpening noob. I was reprofiling my serrated edge, the removed sharpie above the edge bevel is not the issue but if you look closely...

Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
The discontinuation of serrated K390 models isn’t surprising to me. This is the result of 2000 strokes against a Congress Moldmaster 80 grit triangle in a Sharpmaker. I’d hate to try it with K390
Otherwise, it’s great

Re: Your EDC List
How secure do you feel the safety top is? I feel pretty confident about it, but I don’t rule out the possibility. The action of firing it needs to be pretty deliberate. I think the chance of the flip top breaking and it subsequently firing from an impact is negligible, but there is a chance somethi...

Re: Your EDC List
I’ve been carrying one of these for the last six months. The spray pattern is pretty good inside of 10 ft and I hardly notice it in my LFP where it sits loose with my flashlight.
A few different attachment options available

If you don’t mind saying, are you the same Traditional Sharpening as the business based in SE Michigan? In any case, I enjoy reading your posts.

Re: Enuff 2 question
There’s neither sealant nor rivets, the scales are fastened with T6 torx screws and you can remove them to clean/treat underneath if that suits your maintenance needs.

IIRC the factory screws are just under 3/16". I used these to mount an hourglass clip over some Aramis PM2 scales which are thicker than the factory scales.
