Re: PM2 CTS-204P
Interesting that the tan scale 20CV variants sold out a larger number inside of half an hour and these are still available the better part of a day later. These are arguably as nice looking and functionally nearly identical. Perhaps due to different levels of marketing by the dealers, or because thi...

Re: China and tariffs
Actually the GM thing is a huge Money Grab on the part of the Board Of Directors and Corporate Management, all at the expense of American Workers. OK, as someone who is employed in the auto industry, I'll bite. GM, like many other auto makers, currently has excess production capacity above what the...

Re: China and tariffs
First: I would prefer to avoid the "good or bad" politics of the tariffs in this discussion. Then: I'm not one to think I can tell a successful businessman how to run the business he made very successfully. I will say the President is correct in doing what he is doing ... I agree with this...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places
Great, I placed another order for a Maxamet PM2, we'll see how long it takes them to cancel it this time. Why will they cancel it ? Can you explain more ? Probably because they aren't able to fill it, but it makes me wonder why they leave it on their site. Last sale they had (US Labor Day) I placed...

Re: First Spyderco
UKPK all the way! If the color of the scales is an issue, the S110V version has blue scales. A friend just sent me one of those as a gift, and it's awesome. I live in a place where I can carry any knife I want, and this one is going to be hogging pocket time in a major way.

A pressure cooker only boils water at about 250 degrees. It would take A LOT of pressure to boil water at 500 degrees. ~665 psi (~49 bar) over atmospheric pressure Tried the nail trick with the pivot and no joy Try a larger nail with more thermal mass (held with suitable pliers or tongs) and heat i...

Re: 306UF working side
I sent the stone in to Spyderco and received a replacement stone, which is perfect both in surface finish and flatness. I've been enjoying the M & F stones and am looking forward to using the UF now as well. Thanks Sal and Spyderco for the help and responsive service.

306UF working side
Hello, I just picked up a set of Spyderco bench stones (302M, 302F, 306UF), after having had a pocket stone for a while. They're very nice, the M & F are quite flat, and the UF is nearly dead flat. I've liked the results I've gotten on my VG-10 knives from the pocket stone, am looking forward to...

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
Calling your legislator probably won't help. That's a decision made by (un-elected) bureaucrats. All bureaucrats report up to a legislator. In the case of the CBSA, that's Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety, MP for Regina-Wascana. In the case of the CITT, that's Bill Morneau, Minister of Fina...
