Re: Spydie Chef, clip infill screw
Check the pivot screws. If they shorter you might be able to swap them.

Re: Canada's knife laws just cost me almost $400.
The CITT agreed that the Skylines were prohibited. The scary part is that the tribunal says that a knife is prohibited if it can open automatically once the blade is slightly ajar “with minimal manipulation by the thumb of either the flipper or other non-edged parts of the blade, such as the nail n...

It is also the responsibility to know what is and is not legal to import to the country your residing in. The problem is that the CBSA rules defining "centrifugal knives" is completely subjective. One friend of mine had two GEC slipjoints seized, yet another had a BHQ Sage 5 cleared after...

Re: Canada's knife laws just cost me almost $400.
I have wondered how The major knife retailers in Canada are able to bring so many knives over with no issue. But an individual like yourself can't. As explained to me recently- a holder of a business firearms licence can import what may be considered "prohibited weapons" by CBSA. My 2 BHQ...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
My old C-60 Ayoobs models from the early 2000s were all "VG-10 Japan" and so was the 2011 Sprint run as well. So I think there might be something to that assertion that the maker simply uses "JAPAN" instead of "Seki City". From a collector's standpoint I can see where ...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
The knives pictured are marked "seki-city". The "Spyderco" marking is in the Moki font-style though.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Interesting.. I was expecting this to be a Moki made knife.
EDIT: Sal confirmed in another thread that it is! I guess it is just a variation in markings (see comments below).

The newer version has black coated hardware, and the clip screw placement is centered in the grooves on the scales.Christian_Samurai_Outlaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 8:21 pmSo, I'm confused. How does one tell the difference of CQI v1 and v2? And which one is better?

Re: My first Spyderco - Spydiechef - QC questions
What I am experiencing on my knife is not the lock bar moving. I can feel when the detent ball is engaging the edge of the detent hole. But even before it engages the detent hole, I can move the blade quite a bit and it markedly easier to move the blade at that point. Once the ball hits the edge of...

Re: My first Spyderco - Spydiechef - QC questions
I do maintain that there is detent lash, however. I can clearly feel and see when the detent ball is breaking from the hole, and before that happens, there is definitely play. I do admit that it most likely won't be an issue. Is there play in the detent or is the lock bar moving? There is play at t...

Re: My first Spyderco - Spydiechef - QC questions
There is no detent lash. What you are seeing is lock bar flex, which also contributes to vertical blade play. The Spydiechef has a long, thin lock bar that easily flexes. The tension of the detent will pull the lock bar away from the knife when opening the blade. I made a video explaining lock bar i...

The Manix should be an easy one to make! I can't see any redesigning required as they did with the PM2.

Pricey, but really only 5 cents more than the original version's msrp. This one is more special with the steel and finishing.

Re: First Post - Where to get pivot screw for Dragonfly
Dear bgcameron: I don't know what your actual communication was with customer service, but being specific makes all the difference. If a customer contacts warranty repair and says "I need a new clip," they will be directed to SFO, as that is one of their functions. If you send in a photo ...
