They've always varied from maker to maker and sometimes from model to model within a maker. I'd imagine that has not changed. The way I understand it, the serrations are cut in one shot, with a wheel specifically contoured for that particular model. So even within a model there will be some variati...

I've always thought that switching back and forth was pointless. If there were any valid reason for DST, the reason would be just as valid in the winter as the summer. Set the clocks and leave them alone. Indeed. If the point is to "save" daylight, it would seem having it in the winter, w...

Never really knew what White Castle was until Harold and Kumar paid it a visit. Seems like a pretty difficult place to go.

My guess is any site that has as many free members and as many years worth of history will have reliability issues from time to time. In this case we don't know if it is a reliability issue or just an unannounced scheduled maintenance. ===== To our upset foreign friend. I'm sorry your country issues...

Of course if the steak is tough, Ed's chopper might be more appropriate.

Funny my results were different. I wouldn't want to build a house with it, but I think it is the smallest saw you would want to actually use to remove a few branches. I've had a Vic saw for about 30 years. It works well but it doesn't lock. The nature of sawing back and forth...not so good on a slip...

The Volpe. Classy and it is made to put your pointer on the spine to control the fine trimming.

Use it. It is already used so have no fear. ATS55 was a good steel, and one you won't see again, but as of yet, doesn't have any special collector following. Overall, it seems like it was a transitional steel, meaning it bridged a short time span gap between the really old stuff and today's bread an...

Pretty much what the next guy down said. No matter what the sheath is someone complains. :D

The fixed Lum tanto was one of the best looking production Tantos I've ever seen. In my humble opinion, Ti handles on a fixed blade would work against it concerning people's interests.

Hmmm, fixed blade handle expectations versus the mystical selling ability of Ti....

If you are unsure if the problem is something you can fix on your own, I would start with a thread. Ignore the negative folks. For example some locks feel gritty when you first get them, and folks will advise how to fix it. Not a problem, so no need to bother the seller...yet. Just stay positive whe...

I liked the stonewash look on the Swick, but it is soured on what Sal said on the subject of stonewash. IIRC, he said stonewashing is basically a middle step to the end product of finished steel, so it just makes him see an unfinished blade.

I'm in slight disagreement with Zen on this one. Because it's been my experience that over the years almost any model of Spyderco will eventually gain collector's value in time. It would be a pretty odd duck that would pine away month's of searching to find a Grail Vagabond...vs a Grail big Persian...
