Re: Share your mishaps
It hurt more the next day. Right into the muscle. I had some real bad choice curse words and called myself a dumba$$ lol. The Luzon I stabbed myself with was the medium. I owned both and was very disappointed with the medium sizes. I had to return one for a slipping lock. And the 2 medium ones I had...

Re: Share your mishaps
My mishap was not with a Spyderco but a Cold Steel Luzon. I was sharpening it on a fine grit stone. I had the bright idea being stoned on some Train Wreck cannabis to set the stone on my right leg since a table was not available to place the stone on. Well I ended up stabbing myself in my leg about ...

Re: phenomenal premium steels in an itty bitty living space
Well I would say yes to smaller knives having better steel. I own both larger and smaller knives. And even though I can legally carry a large folder. I sometimes enjoy carrying a small gentleman folder knife downtown. I own a few Fallkniven LTC's that are a purposely built smaller knives meant to be...

Spyderco Native Chief CPM REX45 sprint run.
I purchased my first Spyderco USA made knife. Native Chief in CPM REX45 Sprint run series. I know I should probably collect this piece. I just like using it too well. P.S. please forgive the last two photo shot close ups. My camera is not great for close up pictures. 20210602_122213.jpg 20210602_122...

Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?
Some things I would like to see with the Byrd line would be a Byrd fully serrated hawkbill with stainless steel handles. Maybe some different color handle material like seen on the Endura style knives. And an upgrade from 8cr mov to 9cr mov steel. I am assuming both steels are pretty close in price ...

Re: Could this possibly be the first thumb stud opening knife?
Hello people. I was browsing on EBAY for old vintage pocket knives and found this in particular. Very interesting. If I am not mistaking I think as a general rule thumb stud operating knives originated in the mid to late 1980's. Well I just seen this knife that appears to have a thumb stud from 197...

Re: is this military fake?
Some Amazon knife customers buy a fake copy of a knife. Switch it for the authentic more expensive knife. And get a refund sending back the fake knife to Amazon and essentially end up with a $200 knife for $30 or similar. If it were me I would send it back to Amazon and ask for a refund. If you shop...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Great post on serrated edges Evil D. I ruined my first Byrd serrated hawkbill by using a diamond tapered rod. In My opinion. Tapered rods are very difficult to make work effectively. I tested them and never recommended them. sal Thanks for replying Sal. I hope you and the Spyderco team are having a...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Great post on serrated edges Evil D. I ruined my first Byrd serrated hawkbill by using a diamond tapered rod. I started out with a tapered diamond rod and stropped the edge with a Dremel and a polishing bit. It actually worked quite well, I can manage to get very nice edges that way but the serrati...

Re: What’s your best made Spydie?
Native Chief. Quite honestly the first Spyderco I been impressed with and find worth keeping. Maybe it's the USA build quality compared to overseas. But the Endura I owned twice. And I was not very impressed with the tolerances and blade play. And yes I know Japan is considered a top knife making co...

Thanks for sharing these very informative charts. I just wish CPM Rex45 was listed in this. That is the current steel I own in my Native Chief.
