from what i've heard, it doesn't sound normal to me, but it also doesn't sound horribly dangerous. bladeplay is also a very general term. How much? Comp locks can have a tiny amount of vertical play, but it's much less than lockbacks and barely noticeable.

sounds good. yeah i'm thinking next year's purchase will be a sage 3 and dye it black. the only other candidate was the Native5 and other than the blue color the Sage wins in every category IMO. thanks.

for those who dye handles...

just wondering if the texture changes at all when you dye frn/g10 handles. my other question is if you get clumps of dye stuck to parts of the knife, can they be easily removed? Or is that even a problem at all?

just a thought about blade to handle ratio

I just punched in a few numbers to see what the length of cutting edge to overall length ratio is. Here are a few numbers Caly 3.5: .4 PM 2: .36 Sage 1: .36 Native5: .35 So here is what's confusing me: Why does the native5's blade look too short to me when the PM 2 and Sage 1's don't? Is it just sma...

Axis (Jk), although i wish... we haven't seen the BBL much lately... there is the SOG arc lock, the stop lock, anything assisted (do not want or expect), the G-10/ti framelock combo, the slipjoint (hope not), the button lock would be cool!

Spyderco would NAIL the button lock in a sage!

I know this won't be the next sage... but I would kill for a black g-10 sage with a comp lock... or some sort of side lock... or any lock. just black g-10 on a sage please! I want black g-10 on the most ergonomic mid-size knife ever designed.

poll: right handed or lefty?

just hear a lot about LH people on the forums and it got me thinking... Is the ratio of right-handed people to left-handed people who like knives representative of the world's ratio (10%)

nervous to rebevel?

I have a sage 1 and i kinda want to sharpen it with my sharpmaker and give it the shiny bevel with my UF stones. But I'm a little worried I'll mess up the tip on it or something. What's the best technique to avoid messing that up?

does anyone offer aftermarket waves like the P'Kal?

i think an aftermarket removable wave feature is the most awesome thing. I wish they offered it on more models... but does anyone know of the place to go to do that stuff?

svord or opinel?

I was considering getting one of these for fun and to try out a carbon steel. I am poor, so these two seemed like good options. either way, if I get one, should i get a peasant knife or an opinel?

if you could only... just kidding

but seriously, if you had to pick between the Sage 3 and the Para 2, which would it be and why? They seem pretty similar in lots of ways, but if you had to ditch one (please don't say for color because dye can change that), which would you keep and why?

so i have a question about production

are the sage series "limited" or are they gonna plan to keep them in the lineup for years to come? I wanna pick up a back-up Sage 1 but if they're gonna get disco'd i don't wanna have to pick between a backup 1 or a sage 2. what do you think they'll do? keep making them or start making oth...

possibility of mini chokwe?

i love the design but it's too big for legal carry here and most other places. i love the way it gives a simple ergonomic grip, and i was wondering if theres a chance we could see a 3 inch version

Yes it is. I'm saying this because I know way too many people have spent several several years designing framelocks, and you know Chris Reeve has tried more than just Ti. It's not like nobody has considered anything else before. it's a great weight, fairly scratch resistant, and wear resistant enoug...

Nope. get a 700 dollar Sony E Laptop or a nice 700 Dell lappie and get great CS and great price. why pay 1200 for a facebook machine? It's like getting a cu...

do you have to baby the stretch?

just heard lots about how thin it is behind the edge and how great of a slicer it is. so i'm asking this: do you have to baby it compared to say the paramilitary?
