Re: Golden factory…next level factory edges
Is this ‘blocky’ phenomenon due to a mechanized sharpening process? There's a Spyderco shop tour video on YouTube from 7 years ago (I think) that shows a robotic arm doing the sharpening, so that's not a recent development. At least not as recent as that 'blocky' appearance. I believe the general c...

The holiest grail was a flipper prototype called the Cruciflix. It would always draw blood from the user.

Re: Looking at a first Spyderco
The qualitiest feeling knife i have from spyderco is the olive drab tuff reissue. The taichung models feel the highest quality imo, but in my case that makes me afraid to use them out of fear of ruining them. A G10 native lockback may be my recommendation, being well weighted and pocket friendly. Al...

This gem has everything i need right now
The corrosion is beautiful imo and i welcome its reminder that steel is a collection of earthbound elements that would prefer to remain in the ground.

Re: What's the big deal with the nub?
I feel the general “suck it up” sentiment here about tip up or down carry. Adapt. Its part of the design, and part of the joy of having different knifes. Not everybody likes adapting though, so some people dislike the nub. Don’t have a shaman or yojumbo to speak to those models, but the small nub on...

Best Knife For Opening The Next Knife Box
New knife arrives, we eagerly slice the tape and/or sticker to get the box open. Since we STILL don't have a dedicated Knife Box Opener what do you guys use? Do you have a ritual? A place that you open all your new knives? Do we need a design focused expressly at knife packages, a Shelf Defense blade?

Re: Mini Yojimbo Prototype ?
On a previous page, Michael talked about how you can't just scale down a knife when making the smaller version. Since I live in the Boston area, a 2.5 inch knife sounds great. The one problem I have is that I prefer a full, four-finger grip on my smaller knives. I'm guessing the answer is "no&...
