Just watched The Brother From Another Planet . Quirky stuff and fine acting in a non-speaking role for Joe Morton. Have to add it to the not-really-ready-for-mainstream-playlist. A very young David Strathaim also showed me where the original MIB came from. John Sayles wrote the screenplay and was th...

Great news! :D Good to hear you're doing well and about to return to duty. I'm sitting here staring at my Fisher Paragon and Specialized Sequoia gathering more Mojave dust pondering the incisions in my knee from Monday's surgery and wondering when I'll be able to ride or if I'll ever be able to ride...

I don't remember Memento as being mainstream although it had two of The Matrix's actors. Twisty tale that messed with my short term memory or lack thereof..... Christian Baile also turned in an great performance in another less than mainstream movie called The Machinist .....I like twisted movies De...

I don't know where you're located but you might want to attend the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee one of these days. It takes place in Old Sacramento around Memorial Day and attracts jazz musicians in almost every sub-jazz genre (including Dixieland and zydeco) from all around the planet. It's been going ...

Chick Correa is a keyboard player. Lead the Band Return to Forever. Correctamundo and good catch! I missed this on the first sort after I sprayed a bunch of names that came immediately to mind at work before separating them out. I enjoyed Armando Armando Corea way back before he was with Circle and...

As long as we're adrift in the 70s here, Jean Luc Ponty also played on Elton John's Honky Chateau album and at least two Mahavishnu Orcestra albums as well. Another excellent French jazz artist Marc Antoine. He plays acoustic and electric guitar inspired by the Roma style. IMO his best album is Urba...

BIN auctions with extemely high prices are sometimes run just to increase the perceived value of an item to potential bidders. While I am NOT suggesting that is the case with the auctions mentioned here, the fact remains that someone now seeing a Lil T listed for $300 by another seller might be mor...

Congratulations New York Giants!!

Congrats to the Giants for controlling the Patriots' offense en route to their 17 - 14 Superbowl XLII win. The Patriots defensive line was almost non-existent and Brady took the brunt of the Giants' blitzing. All-in-all, one of the best Superbowl games I've seen. Fans of both teams can be proud as i...

Still riding an original Specialized Sequoia from 1978. It's been through 4 grupos and travelled on three continents. MTB is a Gary Fisher Paragon with RaceFace cranks and XTR shift group. Had to cut back this year and have only logged 4,000 miles since the beginning of the year. Good to see we have...
