Re: Newbie pic request

If you're not a fan of the patina or maintenance that comes with preventing it, you could always get it coated. This is my GB with a cerakote (other coatings like DLC or TiCN are also an option). WHERE? This is the first time I hear for a possibility of this on a small scale. There are some local b...

Re: Alternative pocket knife for high corrosion and high edge retention

I don’t eat breakfast. I found dropping the morning meal made it much easier to manage my weight. Intermittent fasting type thing. What is Scottish oatmeal? I used to like the steel cut oat meal. Scottish is a slightly finer chop, but very similar to steel cut. I like Irish Oatmeal, oatmeal honey a...

Re: S30V - how well does your Spyderco battle corrosion

I've had really good experiences with DLC S30V. I used an S30V DLC Manix XL for years and basically treated it like a salt knife with no ill effects. Zero corrosion on my DLC Yojumbo as well. Did you put any oil over DLC? Because I've read somewhere that moisture goes through DLC and rust forms.

S30V - how well does your Spyderco battle corrosion

First of all, I would like to apologize coming up like Internet Explorer with questions of S30V in times of Magnacut and K390. I recently got an S30V black blade Native, having LC200N previously, hoping to switch my EDC (somehow that fat handle just got under my skin, much more ergonomic than Delica...

Re: The Jester 2023 Sprint Run POLL SERIES PART: 3 BLADE STEEL

Was thinking between Magnacut and CruWear, chose Magna due to better corrosion resistance, which would make it a better keychain knife.

And additionally - no M390??? I'm offended :rofl

Re: Dear Sal... Seki Slims?

Yea. It doesn’t work for me either. https://i.imgur.com/MC0hNyN.jpg Bought this Delica for a buddy and took the time to play with it before gifting it. I understand that those points have their use, and for folks with smaller hands maybe they’re ok, but man this is why I’ve never bought a Delica. D...

Re: With MagnaCut looming, it's time to update the Chaparral's steel

Black blades out of Taichung are titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coated, not DLC. The Chaparral was designed as a vehicle for different handle types (like the Kopa) not different steels (like the Native 5). Cold Steel has many black DLC coated blades made in Taiwan. From experience I had with those, t...

And when I remember that I brought this thread from the graveyard just to get the info if the black deep carry clips scratch easily on MXG or Lynch.

Come on people, anyone?

Re: Steels you won't buy...and why

Any non-stainless like Rex45/Maxamet/ZDP etc.

Also not repeating H1 anymore; that thing is softer than 420.

My next go-to is Magnacut from production, and Vanax when/if Spyderco drops a Mule (if I can catch it)

Tern
Delica 4 M390

As far as I recall, not sure.
Seems like the end of 2019. was yesterday.

Should be a shade of orange, of course. 😉
Red wine color, as the St. Nicks G10 M4 Native from a couple of years back.

I’ve had plenty of both mxg and lynch clips. Mxg clips are slightly stiffer in my opinion. I prefer lynch however because he makes left handed clips and customer service is among the best I’ve ever seen.
How to MXG PVD clips hold color?
The same for Lynch cerakote.

Thanks.

Re: Spyderco Standard Clip vs. Lynch vs. MXG Gear

I'm stealing this thread, not to open another one for just one question: MXG owners with PVD black clips - how is the durability on those? Lynch has no clips for Native 5 LW (they said in 2022.), so I'm stuck with MXG for deep carry clip. I wear the knife in bsck pocket and ALL the clips I had, no m...

I know BBS has exclusive Paramilitary in M390, really don't recall Military having any of these.

Edit: If anyone knows, it's RamZar - walking talking Spyderco encylopedia.
