Nitpicking the Caly 3
In light of the coming discontinuation of the Caly 3 I picked one up, since it has been on my want list since I first handled a UKPK. I have a few observations about details on the Caly 3 and wonder if others share any of them... First is the longer shallower choil, with a less pronounced front lip ...

Re: New Delica: A chip, loose screws and mega retention. Dud, or anal owner?
update..... I need some more help, guys. So, I checked the pivot screw. Whatdooyaknow, it was really loose. So, I snugged it up, and my sweetness was back to her old stiff self. But, I noticed something else: The pivot will loosen up on its own after only about 10 or so openings! Argh. If I hold in...

Re: Upcoming 2016 Pre Orders at KC
Dragonfly *3* ?!?! Anyone know what the changes are? or is this just a mis-print.... totally pre-ordered by the way ;) Total misprint supposed to be a ladybug 3. Although at first glance a dragonfly 3 got my heart rate up  That's what I get for being an optimist (and for reading the forum late...

Re: Silly Anti-Knife Argument
Gun advocacy is a "white" issue, for obvious reasons. Non-whites, especially blacks and Hispanics, oppose gun ownership ... I wonder if that is due to these particular demographics being more directly exposed to *illegal gun violence*? (I haven't checked your assertion, but it sounds plau...

Yppah, The Knife and Strfkr
great albums too, though I bought them all on the strength of the airplay songs.

Re: Carving Knives: A Growing Interest?
I would say that some carving blades are too delicate for roughing out the hardest woods (also wood with very convoluted grain patterns), but with care light blades *can* be used on hard woods, just don't try to work too fast. A knife that can only handle softwood isn't much of a carving knife IMO. ...

Hmm, forest green for M4 and gray for CruWear?Joris Mo wrote:My first pick was an M4 Native5 with lightgrey or tan FRN handles.
(but maybe keep the lightgrey FRN for the Cruwear Native5 )
Sounds like a plan to me!

Re: Carving Knives: A Growing Interest?
different tools for different styles... the Mora knives are great values (as are many Scandinavian carvers), but the patterns are much different from chip carving knives (though they can be used for many of the same final results). The push knives are different as well. All designed to work best for...

Re: Pick a favorite model and a sprint you'd like to see for it.
My pick is a full flat ground Ladybug3 with g10 and torx screws not pins. Don't care what steel, don't care what color g10. No bolsters! let me riff on that thought... G10 and screw together, with no bolsters (like the Jester sprint) Manbug, tan or brown G10 scales and any high performance non-stai...

Re: Silly Anti-Knife Argument
I'm going to guess it's regional and depends largely on the individuals' upbringing (or in some cases life experience) and to some extent media/entertainment portrayal of knives as weapons rather than tools. I live in Vermont where many liberal folks aren't opposed to gun ownership and hardly anyone...

Re: The sharpest steel with the least time and effort?
Interesting results so far. My own vote was for H1. I thought the rankings SHOULD be (taking into account both very high sharpness and ease of achieving this high sharpness): 1) H1 2) Super Blue 3) N690CO 4) VG10 5) BD1 6) S30V 7) CTS XHP 8) M4, and 9) Elmax It seems the voting so far does not full...

Re: The sharpest steel with the least time and effort?
I don't have enough experience with all the steels here, so I'm not voting, but I have to say that N690 seems to me to have all the good traits of VG-10, but is quicker to sharpen up and *might* have a sharper refined edge.

Re: Tatanka vs Voyager lock strength test By Cold Steel
This testing is kind of like if a company made a car with a really strong Bumper and made testing videos of running the car into brick walls and other cars and hit it with a sledge hammer to show it was stronger than the bumper of any other car. That would indeed be a neat feature but not one I wou...

As much as I like the wire clip I feel the Air calls more for a sculpted solid clip like on the CRK Mnandi or like the one that was on the original Jess Horn. http://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?tit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... _right.jpg It would need to be reworked...

Re: A rant about Tax- A long read...
About two years ago I got a letter from my state retirement about my not filing a form reporting about income I had back in 97-99. Because of that, they claimed I owed them 16K and they were going to take it out of my check at over $300 per month until I paid it off. There was no way I would have s...

BUT Have you ever seen them post anything negative like their product failing first in their test vids? Ever seen a knife break in their Proof series (my point iscoming)? Ever seen the...
