Re: Lanskey sharpener
For the money I think they are great, they aren’t the best thing going but they work and you can get into a set of guided diamond stones very cheaply.
Re: Records.
There are two older British rock albums I've had for years. One is an older Brit group called the Groundhogs and a couple of their great masterpieces are "SPLIT" and "WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD". Also another forgotten British group called "Budgie" And STUART that is rema...

Re: Records.
for anyone who hasn't been introduced to the wonders of Bowie, the 3 disc box/comp (plus DVD for 4 discs) is a great overview. it's a 20 bit remaster from the original tapes and much of the material that had been crippled by the early CD releases is back in all its glory... of course the current is...
Re: Records.
Here’s a couple more-
Today I’m home sick and currently blasting man who sold the world- width of a circle is a fantastic song.

Re: Records.
I’ll see what I can find, thanks JD I like a lot of Mick Ronson’s solo stuff and it’s on my list to pick up- I know Bowie is seen as a really odd guy as he referred to his “characters” in the third person, was smashed on coke for a long while, made some unpopular borderline pro fascist comments but ...

Re: Advice needed for bonding finished blade to handle for homemade knife project.
Depends on the knife, if full tang I’d tap it and use flush fitting fasteners.
Re: Records.
I like the last few personally however with the exclusion of scary monsters I can leave everything from the 80s However the hard/expensive job is getting the 90s stuff- earthling, Blacktie white noise, 1. Outside and so on are the the ones I can’t bring myself to pull the trigger on- I detest paying...

Re: Have you ever simply just NOT been able to remove a screw? Even when there's not thread locker?
Nope, when they don’t budge I drill the bastards out. I’ve been given/bought knives cheap who have stripped heads and sometimes that just how it needs to go, red loctite and small soft screws... super bad times. loctites spec for threadlockers for the auto industry even blue is overkill for screws o...
Re: Records.
Righto, thanks for that.
Re: Records.
https://i.imgur.com/svaRTyQl.jpg Not my picture but I just picked up the berlin trilogy, recorded while Bowie and Iggy pop where living together in, yes you guessed it, Berlin. Being fairly familiar with these albums I have to say Lodger is my favourite followed by Low then “Heroes” but they are al...
Re: Records.
I’m quite happy with my vintage table-
The specs on it would cost $800-$900 to match today.
You can really spend as much as you want on audio but there will always be something better, for me my technics table offers outstanding value.

Re: Records.
Lots of danger around to be sure, had a visit from a king brown this past summer and the constant barrage of spiders but that’s normal.
Re: Records.
no idea what a Barns and noble is as it’s not a thing here however there’s always been a pretty solid music culture where I am and we have retailers and used record stores around which helps plus having the hipsters get into it helps aswell. I know it’s a cliche but having an on vinyl makes it just...
