Re: I don't like santokus and serrations !
It’s interesting how personal knife choices are for people. There really is one perfect knife out there for each of us. We have a block full of decent kitchen knives, but the only one I use is the santoku.

Re: What is this on the new Spydiechef lock bar?
I’ve got a CQI version of the Spydiechef. Received it as a Christmas gift. I believe the manufacturing date is September 2018 (IR). This thread got me curious, so I checked out the end of the lock bar closely and tested for play in the lack bar and detent. Thankfully, there is zero blade play when ...

Saw that one a bit ago. Even though it’s a tiny sample, it’s still cool to see what people have.

Re: Anso Rock Lobster Sprint Run?
Why is everyone so into lc200 all of a sudden? It seems to have been out (and abused) for long enough that people are realizing how good of a steel it is for those of us that don’t want to mess with maintaining a blade (e.g. oils, clean ups, etc.). It’s an ideal steel for me, from what I’ve heard f...

Re: Which Spyderco fits you?
Best fit so far - my one and only, the Spydiechef. I’ve handled the PM2, PM3, and a few others. Never purchased them. Chef fits my hand great, and it’s surprisingly easy to grip even when wet. That was the one thing that concerned me about the non-textured titanium scales on it. Don’t know why, but ...

Re: Is the Spydiechef coming back?
Amazon had them a bit ago (sold by Fradon Lock). Not sure if they still have them or not. I was able to get mine (gift from the wife for Christmas), by searching for dealers and going with one that shows up later in the search results. Less likely to deal with them disappearing all of a sudden that ...

Re: More camoflage FRN and G10 Spyderco handles?
Not I. It’s hard enough to find a knife with a black handle when you drop it in the woods. Pretty sure anything with a camo handle would simply evaporate once it touched the leaves.SpyderEdgeForever wrote: ↑Tue Jan 01, 2019 2:11 pmWho among you would want to see Spyderco use more FRN and G10 handle scales with camoflage patterning?

Spydiechef! Same knife I’ve carried every day since it was in my stocking on Christmas morning. Not really sure if there’s a knife out there right now that could ever kick it out of my pocket.

Awesome looking knife! Really wish they’d gone with the wire clip, but I can deal. Waiting to see what ‘Santa’ brings me tomorrow morning before I pick one up.

Re: LC200N Native 5 Salt. Still no knife. Come on! When???
https://i.imgur.com/6eSIBbL.jpg Love the look with the gray scales. The yellow isn’t my favorite. If I do end up buying one of these (waiting until after Christmas to see what the wife got me), I’m going to have to do something about the yellow. I don’t know that I’ll go with buying the Maxamet ver...

Re: Lets get Hyped for the Drunken! (dimensions & pics*)
I'd get hyped for this more if I could ever find a Spydiechef in stock somewhere! As of this morning, there are two Spydiechefs available through Amazon. Sold by Fradon Lock Company. Not sure if that’s a reputable dealer or not, but figured I’d toss it out there just in case. I’m really hoping my g...

Re: CQI Spydiechef ?
Question - do you have to disassemble the knife to check? No but you do need a good magnifying glass and strong light to see it. I build models and hav a big lighted Magnifying glass on a swing arm so big it has a cover to prevent starting fires. But I think a good hand held one and strong light wi...

Re: Reality-Check please: Are our VG10 Knives slowly poisoning us?
Doubt it, since they use Cobalt (in the form of Cobalt Chrome) in surgical implants. The thing you need to remember about elements is that their behavior changes completely once they bond with something else. Take sodium and chlorine as perfect examples. Sodium reacts violently with water. If you at...

Re: Can someone help me understand what all the hype is for slipjoints lately?
For many people, I believe it's about nostalgia. I still have my first knife ever given to me by my father (Camillus), when I earned my Totin' Chip in Boy Scouts. I also have a yellow handled knife (also Camillus) that was given to me by my grandmother after my grandfather had passed away. I would n...

Re: LC200N or BD1N
I love the idea of LC200N, because of how resistant the steel is to corrosion. It has also seemed to perform as well as some of the more commonly used ‘higher end’ steels in some tests. For my uses, corrosion resistance is more important than edge holding or toughness, or any other measuring metric....
