Re: $300 Taiwan Spyderco?
Yep. Because these Chinese manufacturers have realized when they produce a superior product the market will accept high prices. Fixed that for you... I agree, thanks. I also think the chinese have worked out that you can make 2 cents on a million items but you can also make $10 on 2000 items and ma...

Re: How to get more women/females into Spyderco?
I find it hard to convince anybody that knives are a tool worth investing good money in. I have a few friends who appreciate knives but the rest don’t seem interested. My wife likes her pink Native but she isn’t interested in steels and she doesn’t want any more knives for herself. I have had good ...

Re: $300 Taiwan Spyderco?
If a $500 USA made knife and $500 Chinese made knife are using the same materials and tolerances, the profit margin on the latter is much, much higher So who’s to blame when a dog takes a dump on your lawn. The dog for taking a dump, or you for giving it access to your lawn? The greatest power we h...

Re: $300 Taiwan Spyderco?
I’ve got a few titanium framelock flippers that are collaborations, manufactured by WE knives, so made in China not Taiwan. But, they were under 150 USD and the quality is outstanding. Faultless. In the end though, it is what it is. Prices don’t necessarily reflect manufacturing costs. It’s best to...

Re: Do you Like your Spyderco Mint or Used
Cool thread that may provide some insight into the psychology of our members, the potential serial killers etc :D I like ‘em mint but they never stay that way for long. I’ve learned to find comfort in the freedom of a few scratches but man that first scratch sucks. I also can’t tolerate carbon steel...

Re: SS models question & discussion
Haha! I’d definately like to avoid putting on a show. Explaining to an officer the reason for your indecent exposure was your concealed knife is not a conversation I’d like to have. On another note, I see in the 2019 catalogue the Endura and Delica SS models are listed as being sabre ground instead ...

SS models question & discussion
‘Morning folks. Can somebody who owns a stainless handle Endura, Police or any model really, tell me if the handles on these knives are solid slabs of SS or are the internals of the handle milled out for weight reduction? I’m looking for a bit of extra comfort for IWB carrying an Endura and an SS mo...

Frn caly 3.5 and frn police are the only knives on my list at the moment but theres always room for more. Re: Experiment: Try open carrying a fixed blade for a week
Hi Vivi Open carry anything is a no no here in Australia let alone a ‘real’ knife, so I can’t offer any insight into public reaction. That said I have a thing for small fixed blades so I’ve tried every carry method imagineable with EDC in mind. Try as I might to make it work, nothing was as quick or...

Re: Your Delica 5
These threads are tough to read. For every ‘lose the liners’ post theres an ‘I love liners’ that follows. I guess thats why there are more than one model in Sypdercos catalogue. Nonetheless, heres my idea of the perfect Delica for ME -Half liner or ‘linerette’. Ala Manix LW or what you find on many ...
