Re: The Hawkbill Blade: Gardening & General Uses

My little plain edge ladyhawk has been serving me well so far this year. I use it to prune plants and open bags of fertilizer and chicken feed all the time. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/bearfacedkiller/knives/166777d7-7150-4539-abb6-4b77f69d2e9f_zpsosmyedpv.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/...

Re: 2015 Forum Knife - Site Load Reminder!!

Would love to buy a couple of these...been trying for about 4 hours now. Been too long since I've bought anything direct from the SFO that I can't remember my password and the password reset option doesn't work any more. It just leads to a blank screen and I get no email notification. Hopefully I'l...

Re: Top reasons to always carry a knife? What are yours?

For the same reason I carry a flashlight and a lighter as well as a plethora of other EDC gadgets, I like to be prepared. Also, I was brought up to carry one. My father and grandfather and all the other men in my family always carried a pocket knife. I have been an outdoorsman all my life and was a ...

Re: ARK: smaller & bigger than I expected.

Great pics! They are very helpful. I am curious about this one and might get one to throw in my ice fishing gear. I usually carry a Swick ice fishing and the Ark could be a good knife in that role too. Edge retention is kind of a moot point because I cut up a lot of frozen bait while ice fishing and...

Re: 2015 Forum Knife Announcement

Yeah, 1,200 sounds pretty low for being available for a day and a half. I think the last one was only available for a few hours. It seems that the price is pretty high this time around. If the original prices are high enough that keeps the scammers away so only the enthusiasts end up buying them. F...

Re: Just Arrived: Spyderco Manix 2 Pilot and 52100 Mule

Very nice scores! I snagged both a 52100 mule and a M4 mule for $150 for the pair off of the local Denver Craigslist from a Denver fire fighter. Mine has quite the patina and was put straight to work.

Re: 2015 Forum Knife Announcement

There are no liners so a micarta model would be tough. I would think that a standard Native5 G10 would be a much better platform for custom scales.

Oh no! I'm on vacation and thought these went on sale today, not yesterday. How did I get that mixed up? I hope I can still get one!

I need to stay calm and breathe deep. It's gonna be OK. :-/

Re: Files, Rasps & Similar Tools?

I always carry either a Victorinox Craftsman or a Leatherman Wave and they both contain a file and I find it useful from time to time. I have never used either of them to sharpen a knife though. The Wave contains a diamond file so it may actually work quite well. I would think a diamond file would b...

Re: Comfortable carry of full size folder (i.e. Military) running or at the gym

I run a few hundred miles a year and usually have a Para2 IWB at 3 o'clock. I don't do much sprinting but my running pace is quick and I do some intervals while running and get moving. I have also run with a Military and a Delica a lot too. For a long time the Centofante4 was my jogging knife also. ...

Re: Victorinox Swiss Army knifes

I carry a SAK everyday. They are affordable, high quality and the knife blades are ground nice and thin so they cut very well. Soft steel is about the only downside to me. I like the larger models and EDC a craftsman in my back pocket with a dangler. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/bearfacedk...
