Well said indeed, with oil over $90/barrel. No need to worry about anything, right? Better hop into the Hummer and head down to Wal-mart for a few more Natives before the price doubles because Sam's boys can't afford to fill the trucks any more.

No company should be doing business with China, not even our beloved Spyderco. Along with a horrendous (worse than the US, even) environmental record, they're appalling on human rights, and they're out to put the west under, one way or another. I'd suggest avoiding products made in China until they ...

I'd sure like one. I'd be buying from bestknives right now if they didn't have ridiculous prices for shipping to Canada.

I did one today with a ZDP Caly Jr: very effective. No pics, though. My daughter specified a very traditional model, with triangle eyes and snaggle-teeth; she specifically decried any of the abominable innovations I've served up in the past (like gaping maws and no eyes, banana horns, and so on).

Thanks a lot, guys! I had a lovely day: with wife, daughter and friends (and knives) like I have, it would have been hard to do otherwise.

I'm not sure about that. The first time, I'm pretty sure I had some niggling doubts; this time, I'm very, very comfortable with everything.

Well, 40º inclusive is less sharp than 30º, but it'll be a little more durable. Trade-offs, trade-offs. I've got my Yojimbo sharpened to 30º with a 40º microbevel, and I can tell ya that it's pretty wicked sharp.

I used to bowl candlepin well enough to do it professionally: but that's about as lucrative as the professional farting tour. Tenpin is just too easy: first time I picked up a ball I started with a turkey and rolled a 180. Never been a 300 game rolled in candlepin.

Sure, same as I avoid cops and their nine-millimetres, too. Picture yourself walking down main street in a large city. A man is walking toward you wearing a business suit, with a sheathed 20" bladed machete dangling from his belt. Now, it's just a "utility tool" but would you not cons...

And have the seller snap a few shots of it in the zipped state, and send them to you; then if it ends up mysteriously able to function as a centrifugal knife in the hands of the Border patrol, you can really start to heat them up. thank you for your advise so does everyone think this is a good idea ...

Zip-tie through the hole and around the knife. Or ship to someone near the border and have it walked across.
