Rule #1: Don't ever blame the steel for differences in sharpness or ability to get it sharp. There is something you do or don't do that makes the Delica easier to sharpen. Of course that's not to say some steels are easier or more challenging to sharpen than others but take it as development and try...

I mean the stuff that comes in powder and is used for locks. It may help, may not. It's only about $1 a tube at most hardware stores so you won't be out much if it doesn't and you can use it to keep your car door locks from freezing this winter.

Graphite powder helps too but will wash off if you wash the knife. Eventually the squeak will wear itself out.

Yeah, I like my holes with some bite :D

I really like the blade shape on these. Reminds me a lot of the Gayle Bradley (or rather, the GB reminds me of this knife). I'm not crazy about the fancy handle designs, but that black/carbon one above is HOT.

You are right about me being late to the show on the M2, real late. But as a newer AFI, all the posts you read are "Ankerson spine whacked one to failure" and "knife ABC is what the Manix 2 SHOULD have been". Maybe I should have clarified that the other knife places we all hang ...

Blerv, Wouldn't this be an Endura with onle a slightly smaller blade? Couldn't a mild grind to the spine of any current endura make what some are describing? Am I missing something possibly? I think you'd have to be half blind and squint real hard to see any similarities between a straight spine St...

Well, I think anything can be made better regardless of how good it is. There's no such thing as the perfect knife. Even my most favorite knives have things I would change about them, I don't think that makes them underrated. I think you're just late to the show and have missed how hot the Manix 2 w...

I would think a custom builder could just as easily pin it though. Although, maybe I'm overestimating the effort required to disassemble and re-build a pinned knife. I've seen STR put together some really cool Lavas and Salts at least. Oh definitely not impossible but definitely easier for someone ...

I probably spend more time going over lighting and how the light is hitting a knife than I do anything else. You can take a pic of a knife on a white sheet of paper, so essentially no background at all, and it will be a good shot as long as the lighting is good. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee...

I have a soft spot for the thin, frequently linerless Spydies from what JD calls "the Golden Age" - the micarta Goddards, Caly Jr., etc. Because of the thin/light construction, almost all of these were pinned. I've only had one major problem with pinned knives - and that was on my origina...

Your best bet is to register a Photo bucket account and host pics from there. Much easier than resizing every pic you post.

I have never had a problem with a pinned construction knife. I realize that torx screws make it easier for the good people at spyderco to assemble and service more knives, but I still have to stand by the good 'ol pins. Personally, I think torx are more trouble than they are worth, especially if yo...

Interesting how the holes on those are chamfered. It cracks me up how I've heard complaints about spyderholes being either too sharp or even too smooth. I wonder if this was one of those rolling changes they experimented with over the years that never caught on, or if it's just part of the design.

Did you order it or buy local in person? If you bought in person why didn't you check for play first?

As for fixing it, the lock tab can likely be peened and solve the problem. As a last resort I would swap the liner out from a standard Para.

I loved how the MB felt in my hand, but could never get over the looks of the blade. I never could like it for some reason. It just has too much belly and up swept tip for my taste. To be fair, that does add a little extra edge length, but I'd prefer having a wharnie myself since the thing is too s...

My plan was to throw the Bug on this necklace that I never take off. I figure it's small and light enough I would barely notice it and always have a blade on me. It's not just about legality issues (where I live you can carry anything within reason so long as you have a decent excuse, which doesn't ...
