Bloke, what knot do you use for 4lb braid to 6lb fluoro? I've use alberto's knot (modified Albright) for years, works great but I've never dealt with braid that small.
On topic: I just used my s110v military to cleave an air hose so I could put on a new fitting.

Re: Hi Everyone
Welcome! Time to learn the sharpening process and practice (maybe on a $4 walmart knife at first). You may get hooked on sharpening as well.

Re: Best way to deal with red loctite
1) Use decent quality torx bits. Wiha are generally regarded as among if not the best you can get, but I've had good luck with the $6 Husky set from Lowe's. 2) Make sure you're using the right size bit. Don't just trust what size the screw is supposed to be, test fit a couple bits and find the one ...

What do you mean by shift your grip? I feel like you'd have to do that for any lock, although the least with an axis/cbbl lock.

Re: The Spyderco Military - Discussion
I'm impressed with it. A rope caught the clip of my last one and overboard it went. I got another 2 days later. It certainly isn't a pleasure to use though, as is the Military. I think more than anything, it highlights the usefulness of a wharncliffe serrated knife in a hard use environment. Your's...

Re: The Spyderco Military - Discussion
Both of those knives are in my pocket 15 hours a day since February. I also use the rescue 2 more, but that's because I'm required to do some rough cutting. I often have to cut rope so abrasion resistant that it can blunt razor sharp s110v, and that's if it isn't saturated in sand. Everything is ma...

Re: The Spyderco Military - Discussion
So I carried the military today and was annoyed every time I used it. The pocket clip isn't tip up, the lock is a pain to disengage, and I find myself babying the tip. I had to put a grill together and grabbed my byrd cara cara rescue 2 to cut straps. I found myself grabbing the rescue every time. ...

Liner locks tend not to hold up to extreme abuse as well as many other locks... But you should bring a fixed blade if you have to baton or something. https://youtu.be/oWDPX9ij7QM Look at 13:30. I don't know what this guy expected though. This is more along the lines of "purposeful destruction&...

Re: Does Made in America Need to be Expensive?
You mention S30V and M390. Hopefully you don't think that's all that relates to price or value. The $80 Link is a $45 steel improvement on a $35 knife. I've had an aluminum Link and a PM2 (no Shaman). They are not comparable IMO. The PM2 is very smooth, the Link uses a torsion bar so you don't noti...

Re: X different steels in X different models
S90v, s110v, m4, and 204p.... All militaries. There are many reasons to like spyderco, but the quality and variety of steels offered is BY FAR the main reason I'm such a fan. I honestly haven't found a single knife company where I actually love more than 25% of their models offered, so steel plays ...

Re: The Spyderco Military - Discussion
I think I would have liked the CD s90v with the frame lock more. I'm just not much of a liner lock fan, especially at this price point. The tip just seems too delicate as well. I guess I just need to try it more. I have snapped the tip of a military before, but it was because I accidentally caused ...

Re: The Spyderco Military - Discussion
For those of you with a 204p military, how was the blade centering and sharpening job? Not impressed with mine, but it'll do. Very sharp and perfectly centered. Oh mine is certainly sharp, not saying that. As I stated previously though one side of the bevel is at about 15 degrees and the other is p...
