I have the same problem. If the tip gets too dull, I grind the top of the blade with my dremel down to meet the point. This will give a new sharp tip. I have the same problem when getting up from my chair in my garage. The clip snags on the chair and bends out. So I take it off and bend it back. Don't have loctite but my daughters nail polish works just as well.
