Re: To M4 or not to M4...
No. While I don't have anything in Rex45, I really love the way m4 sharpens and performs. One of my favorites.

Re: Bento Box Something Something....
Is the Bento Box announcement not a Para 2 in Elmax with Foliage Green G10 ? That is what I see on their website showing as not in stock but a link to the FB and IG pictures shown in the first post of this thread?? I'm confused ... Maybe an old listing? I've never purchased there nor really visited ...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?
CPM M4
PD#1 / Cruwear
K390
I tend to like the tool steels. I just find I can get them sticky sharp and I like the look of a natural patina to me is just an aesthetic bonus. The Cru-wear seems pretty stain resistant though even with very little care.

Re: Thinking about a Mule in PD#1
I've been using a PD#1 mule in the kitchen for about 4 months. I certainly have other knives that are made specifically for kitchen duties but having it in the same location as my kitchen knives reminds me to use it regularly. Overall I'm really liking it. It is surprisingly stain / corrosion resist...

Re: Bento Box Something Something....
I definitely like the steel and handle color. For me a Para 3 gets a lot more pocket time. Wonder if that model will get this combination also.

Re: Edge retention, real use, edge damage
I like a balance between ease of touch up and holding a working edge. Ive found either M4 or Cru-wear are my preferred steels for this right now. My edc folders in either of those steels get far more pocket time then anything else in have.

Re: Para 3 CF M4
I'd personally love this model and have been patiently waiting to see if one would come. M4 is my favorite all around steel and a Para 3 is almost always in my pocket. I have the Blade hq version in Jade G10 but would prefer a peelply CF version.

Re: Cutest knife that I ever bought
In 2012 I bought my first Spyderco. It was an original version Chaparral in G10/CF and with S30v blade. Never used it a lot as it turned in to my "dress up" knife but it led me to eventually sell off all the other manufacturers that I owned and keep an ever rotating collection of Spyderco ...

Re: What angle do you sharpen at?
Usually 15 dps on most Spyderco folders which run the gamut of steels (M4, Cru-wear, S110v, Maxamet, etc.) except VG10 I do 17 dps. I add a 20 dps microbevel on some that are harder use. My kitchen knives are various quality steel Japanese pieces. Angle depends on style. Petty, Santoku, Gyoto, betwe...

Re: Mourning for the brick and mortar stores
I'm in Canada and am fortunate to have a great knife shop within an hour drive from me. Tremendous variety and stock levels and customer service has always been great. I only order online if it is an exclusive I really want that this store of course won't get.

Re: Endela-thread
I went to my local knife store today as I saw they got stock on the Endela a week or so back. Went in with the full intentions of coming home with one but I left empty handed. I just couldn't fall in love with it. Can't say exactly why. Didnt feel right in my hands. I will say it was typical Seki o...

Re: Everyday Spyders You Use For Culinary/Food Uses?
I have a Spyderco model folder in my pocket any time I'm wearing pants! However, if in my kitchen I always grab a kitchen knife. I have various types and sizes of quality steel Japanese kitchen knives. Most of which are very thin "lasers". I just don't see the 3" or so folder (what I ...

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
It looks like an interesting knife but I wish it was longer. With a edge length of only around 4.3" it is going to have to be a small loaf.Marulaghost wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 5:04 pmI'm looking really forward to the Z cut line!

Re: Para 3 lightweight
I picked up one of these in plain edge at a brick and mortar store close to me here in Canada this morning. They got stock in on Tuesday. I handled one for quite a while before I decided to purchase it. I have 4 G10 versions in different steels so I didn't really need it and It certainly wasn't inst...

Re: CTS-BD1N Where does it fit in?
Waiting for my Dremel router table to come in so I can shave the excessive plastic off my Wicked Edge pro 3 paddles as it gets in the way of sharpening many of my spyderco's where the blade becomes the Ricasso and finger choil, then I am going to drop the Para3LW down to around 13 degrees per side ...

Re: Para 3 lightweight
I have 4 different G10 Para 3 models and they are my favourite models right now. I am going to first go to a brick and mortar store and handle a lightweight before I commit. I'm worried it may feel tip heavy. I really enjoy the balance of the G10 versions.
