Re: New PM2 lock stick issue

I just want see if those streaky abrasions and deformations on the lock face portion are kind of normal on a PM2 that has been flicked a couple hundred times or if this just my example.... also I'd like to know wether other blade tangs have that burr behind the detent ramp that mine has. Unfortunat...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

theres always the option of running it clipless, come to think of it the form factor on the Ikuchi would probably be real nice like that actually. Do you carry a compression lock knife loose in your pocket currently? Sounds scary to me, they seem to open up on me when I don't want them to Mmm very ...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

I could probably do like I did for my Smock and order from DLT, I saved about $15 and got mine a couple weeks before they started popping up in Canada, but then I run the risk of getting tagged with big duty fees and it would end up costing even more. I don’t see how I’d carry it clip-less. As comp...

Re: New Proposed Model - Spyderco Antilles

A serrated version! It'd also be pretty neat to even maybe have one of those barrel clips they have on the Rescue and etc. on a small compression lock model, it'd be all these different elements never before seen together on a Spydie and perhaps it just might grab more sales just from how interestin...

Re: Have you noticed?

I was browsing around last night and I noticed that all the retailers now have the Parata as a listing, some available for presale as typical. Seems like it could be soon!!!! Suuuper stoked for this knife :D

Re: Does anyone else wish for a standard scale color other than black?

If it were up to me I'd also want a default dark green, burgundy and a white that comes with a RIT dye package, for DIY colors!

Re: New PM2 lock stick issue

Best I can do for you is this: https://youtu.be/sta3r7Wyh20?t=130 At 2:10 you get to see the lockbar and I'm sure there are other parts where you can pause to get a look from other angles as well. I can't imagine you needing to file off too much of anything, you arent reshaping the lockbar by any me...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

$300 is unfortunately not an exaggeration. Going price in Canada is $180, plus shipping and taxes puts it at $200. A Ripps clip after shipping and exchange,(assuming no duties or import fees) is $100. I really like the design of it and if it came with a useable clip I’d grab one. Now I certainly se...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

The lock is fantastic. Mine takes a little more force to disengage than my para2 (tension on the lock bar is a bit more) but is easier to press the button than digging a fingertip in so it ends up far easier to use. However I have never accidentally disengaged the lock on the Smock or my custom SK2...

Re: New Proposed Model - Spyderco Antilles

I like the V2 a lot actually... almost reminds me of something like the Techno's more hardworking, less indulgent younger brother

That’ll do.

Just be sure to always use in moderation... you don’t want resin gumming up the Ikuchi’s pivot.

Oh the Ikuchi is a smart, smart cookie, don't you worry... I'm sure you of all people would already know that though right? ;)

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

The Ikuchi deserved a better photo... Spydergirl88 I hope you don't mind, I wasn't able to find anything half decent anywhere else. Recap of the the score action up until this point: The Smock has been holding its lead since the start, but with the Ikuchi consistently trailing close behind.. At this...

Re: New PM2 lock stick issue

I've had PM2 lock stick that was cured with just a very little oil. Yeah, unfortunately that didn't work for me... If I decided to send it in, how exactly does this work? Would I have to cover both sending and returning costs? May there be warranty issues since I took the knife apart for inspection...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

I do like them holes on the Smok handle.. all 3 of them :p Funny it was the Ikuchi that helped me appreciate having those as a part of the design, as well as my Lil Temperance too. I dont think i'd mind seeing them appear more often on other models going forward, and it seems they fit in perfectly w...

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

Full disclosure: Never handled a smock or an Ikuchi. But of course I read a lot and informed myself about these two in many aspects really interesting new models. Just for me personally, though I really like to look at both and enjoy the great designs, none of these two is an absolute must-have, th...

Re: Reverse Grip Edge In, folder deployment

I see. After reading that I am quite grateful I do not ever have to think about such a situation where I am at! If we are trying to prepare ourselves for such a situation though, most folders, even automatic ones would be massively handicapped compared to a fixed blade, so to speak. Even an emerson ...

Re: Reverse Grip Edge In, folder deployment

Forgive me for being naive, but what position exactly is reverse grip edge in? Pointy side towards your pinky sharp edge side facing your body. OP if I can add my 2 cents, although I do not know your exact circumstances nor should I assume them, in general I'd say if you are really concerned about ...
