Re: Looking for advice
Although I have neither the Air nor the Positron, as others have mentioned the Air might be a good choice being that it is being discontinued and will no longer be available. You should still be able to find it at several dealers however. It looks like a very nice little knife. If you like the Air m...

Re: Please more s90v so little options
Found the quote. We have no plans at this time for a steel interface. We also do not carburize or carbidize. What we do have though is lots of experience, data from extensive testing and several thousand knives (some with a steel interface and some without). We also have our practice of CQI (Consta...

Re: Please more s90v so little options
I believe Spyderco carburizes the locks on RIL, not carbidizes... This is the best way to treat the lock from what I have read (CRK Has been very successful with it) Kristi has stated that they do neither carburized or carbidized. This is "comforting" to me because I keep getting the two ...

Re: Please more s90v so little options
Spyderco has stated that they don't do any treatment to any of their locks. There must be a reason for this. I'm sure they've done their homework and determined that it is not needed. If it was, they would do it. That has been my experience with the company so far. None of my titanium frame locks f...

Under those conditions the Sage would be a fine choice. Use mine everyday. Good thinking on your part.

I really don't feel qualified to place a vote because I only own knives with the first three lock choices and no experience with the remaining four. :o

Re: Help me choose a spydie-gift
I'm going through the same thing for my Dad's 70th Bday. He's a classic SAK guy, so I want to get him a larger working blade, but something he will actually carry because weight/size is a factor. At this point, I'm leaning toward a Sage1 or Sage2. I find them to be right in the middle size and weig...

Re: I love lock back knives!
Although I have owned and used many lock back knives I was never really happy with any of them. Too many had small locking lugs and minor blade play and, even though it wasn't much of an issue, it bothered me. But all that changed recently when I bought my first Spyderco lock back, the Chaparral. I ...

Yes, RIP for sure.
Service dogs everywhere are real heroes who serve because they love what they do. Even in the picture, look at the way Diesel is alert and watchful. She went down taking care of her crew. Yes, RIP Diesel..........

Re: Doh! Cuticle Cuts
Neosporin is good stuff. A couple of years ago I had a blistered foot that got infected and I ended up in the hospital for three days. One of the Registered Nurses on duty was an old Viet Nam combat medic who knew his stuff. He told me, "If you had used Neosporin on that foot you wouldn't be in...
