It depends on the person I'm handing it to. I, like Gunslinger, usually get handed back an open knife when I give it to someone to use because I have a lot of NKP in my life. I wouldn't hand my Squeak to them for fear of them getting "bit". I wouldn't hand my Delica over either but that's ...

How about a ZDP-189 Delica, a Lil Matriarch (same size and handle, different blade shape), or a Delica with the Emerson Wave in the bluish-gray color. I have the Foliage Green Delica, which is sabre grind and is a combo edge, and I love it. That's my $.02 worth. :)

I agree, I carry a Squeak with me at work and no one is the wiser due to the wire clip. I love the steel, the slipjoint aspect, the size. For $35, you got a **** good deal. I paid $50 and feel it would be worth more.

After some thought, I will most likely be going with a Matriarch. Is the extra $5 or $6 worth it to get the Matriarch over the Lil one? Obviously the handles are Endura-sized vs Delica-sized but does the blade length difference really change the cutting power? Most of the boxes I deal with are mediu...

Great, now I'm torn :) I like how the Lil Matriarch has the Delica handles and the shape is pretty cool. But I don't have a sharpening system so the Tasman might be better if H1 holds its edge longer. Also is it worth the extra bit on money for the full size Matriarch over the Lil Matriarch? I might...

Seems like the Lil Matriarch is a favorite. I overlooked that for some reason, no idea. It looks like I may end up with one.

Blake: Out of curiousity, what would the Tasman SE offer that the Lil Matriarch doesn't, besides blade shape and H1 steel?

Hawkbill or Cricket?

Today I discovered the awesome power of the SpyderEdge. Previous knives I owned with serrations were okay at best, usually catching at some part of the cut and tearing the material. While slicing a canvas today off the printer at work using my Delica, I tried the SpyderEdge and it slid right through...

2013, first actual Spyderco was an Ambitious that I returned to purchase a Squeak. Just got a Delica 4 Foliage Green CE. Prior to the Ambitious, I owned a Byrd Flight and Cara Cara 2 FRN.

Delica4 C11PSFG No Edge-u-cation papers?

Just picked up my Delica4 Foliage Green Combination Edge and it has no Edge-u-cation papers in the box. Is that normal? I know not every Spydie has them but seeing as the Delica is a flagship, I would have figured that it would have papers.

I was slightly mistaken when I read the info. It's the C101GPS2, not the C101GPS, that I saw. Does it still stand to reason as being worth the money or would the FRCP lightweight Manix2 be the better buy? endgame, if you still want the link, I'll PM it when I get to my computer so I can just copy an...

C101GPS Manix

I found a place to acquire this Manix for around $73 total. Given that it is S30V and has G10 scales, is it worth it to buy or should I focus on the Manix2?

Not sure how I feel about the RIL on the Sage2. I mean, I suppose it's similar to a liner lock with no scales over it but I just get an odd feeling about it. It's weird in that I trust my Squeak with no lock and want a UKPK and Pingo, but a frame lock makes me wary. Not to mention the price is a bit...

I only used the ceramic side of that sharpener on my other knives because I read somewhere what you said, that the carbide was more for taking a lot off to get a chip out. I definitely will be getting a Sharpmaker. I must be looking in the wrong places, because I keep finding it for around $100, not...

Do your knives a favor, don't ever use this sharpener on your spydies again. Take SpyderNuts suggestion and get the sharpmaker! I actually haven't touched my Squeak's blade to that sharpener at all, as I only got the knife last Friday. I'll probably have to save up a bit to get the Sharpmaker so ho...

The sharpener I have has one slot with two crossed carbide rods and another with two crossed ceramic rods. It was around $5 at Dick's Sporting Goods.

How are you liking the N690Co in the Squeak? DO you currently have a sharpening system? I actually skinned a piece of the tip of my finger because I'm not used to having such a sharp knife :D . No complaints about the steel, it does what I need to do (opening boxes, cutting tape, cutting the odd pi...
