Re: Blending EDC with Self Defense
I wonder if the lil matriarch could handle some edc tasks. It might be what you are looking for. Small, light, versatile. I don't have one, so I couldn't tell. Maybe someone else could answer. It makes a great EDC. Not quite as versatile as a traditional blade shape but far more useful than most wo...

I have a zdp189 df2 that rocks! It's also about $50 less than what a Hap40 is going for on the secondary market.

I love my GB1 and I have yet to handle a GB2 but they get great reviews as well.

Re: Whatever happened to D2?
JD and others, a question about D2 for knife blades and Spyderco knives in particular: I have been told by some in the knife world, and I'd like you to tell me if this is the case across the board for all UNCOATED D2 blade knives, that if uncoated and untreated, ie, straight forward D2 blades will ...

Patina on GB1?
Is there a good way to force a patina on GB1? It's my favorite EDC but every time
that I try to let it develop a natural patina I develop too much rust for my comfort without pitting.
I have used it for food prep, meat cutting (I don't hunt), etc., with no luck. Thanks!

Re: Biggest Spyderco regret of 2016
Much like many of you, I regret not buying a HAP40 sprint. I missed out on the Stretch. I either own or have reserved the rest of them and I'm going to have to work a little harder at some point to get that Stretch. National Knives still has a few: http://www.nationalknives.com/spyderco-stretch-c90...

Whatever happened to D2?
Was D2 just a phase of the most popular steel of the moment or is it still a good steel for a knife blade? Are the other steels now available just an improvement over D2? I haven't seen many Spydie offerings with D2 in a while but I don't know if that is a business/marketing decision or D2 is just a...

Re: 5,000th post Giveaway !!!
To take possession of the knife you must agree to: 1) use the knife and enjoy it. 2) never sell it. If for some reason you don't want it anymore please gift it again. :) Well, within reason, if you have kids to feed then of course, sell it. Otherwise this is should always stay a gift. :) 3) do some...
