Until Spyderco produces one, you might want to look at Benchmade's butterfly trainer.

Sypdieman, Local city ordinances may vary, but California state law says any size folder is OK. Fixed blades like the Ronin, however, cannot be carried concealed. I have a ss Cricket in a Sastre neck sheath (www.rivercitysheaths.com) and I love it. Very secure, and opens on draw with the Spydie-drop. I've seen Mike Sastre wearing a closed Matriarch or Civilian under a T-Shirt in one of his neck sheaths and you would never know it was there until suddenly he p...

I think some of you are being a bit harsh on Guest. He raises a valid concern about knife names and public perception. Now for most forumites that may not be a critical concern, but if you ever have to go before a jury they might think otherwise. Massad Ayoob has written extensively on the subject. ...

Hi Disorder, Just to let you know U.S. knife laws are screwy, but very few cities in the U.S. have a law as restrictive as the one you described. In California, for instance locking non-automatic knives are legal, though some cities have attempted size restrictions. (Autos are legal if the blade is ...

As Joe pointed out the handles of these two knives are very different. If you have access to both, see which feels better for your particular hand and preferred grip. I like my Mini-griptilian a lot, and prefer its clip position. In contrast, the Endura works better for me over the full size Griptil...

Likewise, Mike. For those who don't know, Mike Sastre is an extraordinarily talented sheath maker, whose synthetic sheaths for Sypderco folders are sold at the SFO. You can purchase sheaths, or knife & sheath combos directly from him at www.rivercitysheaths.com I couldn't resist picking up a sta...

Sal, Temperance Trainers, and the Riddle

Sal, On behalf of all 37 of us who attended James Keating's Riddle of Steel I wanted to extend our thanks for the donation of the Temperance Trainers. They were put to constant use, carried in a variety of fashions (upside down, small of back, drawpoint) and were really appreciated. Now I just have ...

I've read posts elsewhere sugggesting that the knife in MI:1 was just a prop made for the movie, and in some scenes only a computer generated graphic.

Does your friend always carry his ASP? Even if it were legal to carry in my home state of California (it's not), there are many places that I'd be hard pressed to carry one, as opposed to a folder. As is often pointed out, the best weapon is the one that is actually on you. Best regards, Argyll Qui ...
