Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Hey Vivi, I dig a sharp shovel (literally). That one looks almost too pretty to use. Also wanted to mention that I've been using the coarse Idahone triangle rods for over a year now, typically as a progression between Sharpmaker CBN and Brown rods. They seem most useful if I'm thinning out a serrate...

Re: What do you want to see at Shot Show 2024?
I'd like to see a mid-size handle-forward design with little or no thumb ramp and 2.5mm blade stock. Also some refinement in the Seki FRN models pivot design. I have too many that are problematic to set the tension on effectively. Either set it so tight that it becomes difficult to open, or set it l...

Re: The Delica Wharncliffe is the greatest work knife ever made.
It's taken me a while but I'm really enjoying my Delica/Salt 2 knives. I recently picked up the K390 Wharnie and just ordered an H2 SE Wharnie. I've got XL size hands but have no problem with these designs for light use, which is where I think they excel.

Re: Has anybody been testing H2 yet?
I've had the Salt Hawkbill SE in H2 for some time now and I've seen no discernable difference between it and my H1 Salts.
I too am looking forward to the Stretch 2 XL in H2 SE. That high hollow grind in the release pics looks pretty irresistable.

I think the Harrier 2 SE is on the disco list so get it while you can. I've seen it as low as $25 and that is a pretty sweet deal.

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
There's several Spydie SE models in that size range, and several different steels as well. I think one of the best values is the discontinued Rock Jumper SE in VG-10. It's a Wharnie, don't know how you feel about that. Still available for under $60 at some sites. VG-10 in SE is no slouch.

Yup that was the formula for me. The only one that felt like work was the Native Salt. One of my favorite carries now though.

Re: The ultimate Delica
I've now refined my SE Salt N5 in Magnacut to 15 degrees with the Sharpmaker CBN rods, and also done the same to my K390 Delica SE and K390 Endurance SE. The N5 in Magnacut required the most work. I think the Seki models required a lot less steel removal. In all cases I also progressed through the b...

I've seen those Byrd hawkbills as low as $22 during this great Wharncliffe & SE sell-off that we are the beneficiaries of.

Re: Future Rockjumpers?
I'll jump on the bandwagon. VG-10 in SE is no slouch, and a VG-10 SE Rockjumper at around the $60 mark is a pretty sweet deal.

Re: Native Chief LW
I was leaning towards the Chief LW in Spy27 but Reveal 14 has got me fired up about the Chief Salt in Magnacut now. It'll be a nice companion to my Native 5 Salt Magnacut SE. I'd like to try dyeing FRN for the first time and see if I can manage a dark orange shade for them both.

Native Chief LW
I see these are trickling in and was hoping to hear some folks talking them up by now? Really hoping to see comparison pics with the Endura, Stretch 2 XL and Police 4 LW. Looking forward to the early buzz.

Re: Where does the Tenacious stand at 15 years old?
I'm pretty ambivalent about the Tenacious, primarily due to the size. It's not quite small enough and not quite big enough, all at the same time if that makes sense. But put a Resilience in my hand and I'm a very happy camper.

Lovin' this mostly good-natured thread. Spyderco is walking the fine line between "give 'em something" and "give 'em nothing". There will be frustration either way.

Re: Will Spyderco use the Manix and Smock locks again? Sage 6?!
I would love to hear Sal weigh in on expanded use of the CBBL. This subject is frustrating for me because I love the Manix line and these requests for new CBBL models never seem to go anywhere. They just never seem to get any traction or attention.
