Re: MagnaCut Long Term Impact?
Yeah, from what I’ve read (from reputable people on these boards) it seems that Magnacut is going to be a legit and permanent step forward. As many have said, it won’t replace the super tough steels or the super edge holding steels, but it’s gonna be pretty hard to beat for an all around performer. ...

I was thinking the same thing. I guess you could use a sharpie to try to correct it, but something doesn’t feel right about doing that. LOL

Re: Pacific Salt talk
I often carry a Salt 2 or Native 5 because of my job (math prof)... I dont really understand why a math professor would need to carry a salt series... And I even have a degree in mathematics as well. Must be a phd thing. :cheap-sunglasses But its all good, carry what you like. This guy has been in ...

Re: Pacific Salt talk
I often carry a Salt 2 or Native 5 because of my job (math prof). However, if you told me I could only have one type of folder for the rest of my life to serve all purposes, I would select a Pac Salt without any hesitation. I recently got the LC200N FFG Pac Salt and although I like it, it’s not quit...

Re: Delica Compatibility
Thanks for the replies. I guess the simpler question is... are the handle/scales and blade/lockbar thicknesses identical across the Salt 2 and Delica platforms? Yes, I believe they are. I think you can swap either way. Just be sure to swap the lock bar with the blade…in other words, keep the blade ...

Re: Delica Compatibility
I don't think it would work due to different handle dimensions. You could try it, though. You'd have to use the lock bar that went with the particular blade. I have swapped Delica 4 blade and lock bar into a salt 2 handle. It worked fine for me. The simple solution is for Spyderco to get rid of the...

Re: Salty Stretch?
I am happy to entertain any and all salt models. To me, they are the most practical and simple designs that Spyderco makes. To those of us who value the simplicity and lightweight functionality of an EDC, the Salts are King. The blade shape of the stretch would make a great outdoor folder...and the ...

Re: Blade 2021…best in show.
Thanx for the input, Appreciate. I had a chance to study the sample more closely and I guess Iied. :worried The ribs on the inside of the model was not a skeletonized steel liner. A closer look revealed they were FRN ribs. I thought it was lighter than it should be. (76.6 gms - 2.7 oz) So the model...

Would anyone else like to see the Delica get a forward finger choir?
No
The Delica and Salts are really good and functional the way they are...plenty of other models with choils.

Re: H1 is the perfect EDC steel. Change my mind..
So...should H1 be the standard base Japanese steel instead of VG-10? Should all Japanese Spydercos be salts? Yes, but with LC200N instead of H1. H1 is a Japanese steel and may they continue to have success with it in their models. It cost extra for them to import LC200N and ship the finished produc...

Re: H1 is the perfect EDC steel. Change my mind..
I’ll also add that another bonus of the H1 salt knives is their simplicity of construction, especially the older handle models. There are so few parts which means less things to go wrong. No washers, no liners, no complicated locking mechanisms. Simple and functional. Yes, this is exactly why I pre...

Re: Salt 2 or native 5 salt?
I like the Native 5, but the Salt 2 is waaaay more ergonomic and practical for me. It's easier to open and has a more practical blade shape. Especially the Wharnie!
Full disclosure: I prefer the way the Native 5 looks...but the Salt 2 is a better overall design for me.
