Orange Native with S90v DLC blade? OH BOY!!!
I was holding out for Spyderco to put a wire clip on the Native but I may have to end my Native strike with this one...

Re: A11 steels vs S110v - sharpening
S110v is the most difficult steel to sharpen that I own. I find it equal to if not slightly harder than Maxamet to get it hair popping sharp. Reprofiling S110v for me is much faster with diamond stones for the edge pro. I usually finish with the Sharpmaker ceramics; medium, fine, then ultra fine. Th...

Re: Manix 2 LW blade swap
For DougC-3 and anyone else that may attempt this I have a couple more observations that may be helpful. Although it may be common sense it wasn't for me until I thought about it after the fact. When you are prying apart the frame from the blade pivot it is important that you pry between the metal e...

Re: Manix 2 LW blade swap
Excellent! Your use of the razor blade is a good idea and if I did it over I would use that over the hacksaw blade. I’m glad this works for others and it’s not by luck the thing doesn’t break. How were your results? The one other step I took was to insert a brass punch after I pulled back the black...

Re: Free hand sharpening stones question
I also use DMT. I’ve driven myself quite crazy on some high carbide steels like S110v using standard wet stones, they just don’t seem to cut very fast. If I’m free handing I’ll use the double sided DMT course/fine plate. Once I run through those I use the sharpmaker stones. You can either hold the t...

Re: Manix 2 LW blade swap
The scales seemed to bend ok without too much stress, there doesn’t appear to be any stress marks on the plastic. Albeit I’ve never tested the breaking point of spyderco’s FRN. The hardest part seemed to be getting the metal eyelets the pivot pin rests in that are pinned to the backspacer spread en...

I know the feeling. I lost my Delica 4 in a snowstorm when I was at work. Someone else has that awesome blade now, I hope they are enjoying it as much as I did!

Re: If you could keep only one Spyderco, which one would it be?
If you had to give up all but one, what would be your choice? You monster. :p That's a tough choice. Based on purely practical reasons, probably my PM2. There are others in there that would be fine choices for a purely practical single-knife option. But, in reality, if you put a gun to my head, it ...

Re: Your Favorite Obscure Spyder
I’m far and away not an expert on this subject. A friend of mine at one point in his life was a butterfly knife fan. He was showing me his butterfly knives one day and knowing that I was a Spyderco fan he pulled out a Spyderfly and proceeded to tell me it was kind of a joke and it was a cheap piece ...

Re: If you could keep only one Spyderco, which one would it be?
Complicated It was once a G10 version, but now resides in a Maxamet LW chassis... so my choice would be the LW rendition, only because of how much lighter it is, and I've got a thing for that wire clip.anycal wrote:^ LW version, or G10? Common, you can't leave us hanging like that!

If you could keep only one Spyderco, which one would it be?
Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I'm curious to see what everyone's July 2017 answer would be. Also I apologize in advance if this question frightens some of you, as it kinda frightens me thinking about it :D For me currently it would be the S110v Manix 2. I have put this knife thro...

Deep carry wire clip on the Manix 2 LW instead of the high-rise wire clip that ships currently.

I've yet to own a military, but that M4 looks awesome! Also I've been eyeing the 204p version, if only I was rich...
