Oh btw, if anyone was wondering why I named it, was the quickest thing that popped up was a play on words. --> Its quite interesting that as I searched Google, I found that Japanese animation, made a anime/cartoon regarding what would happen if japan, Tokyo, was hit with a 8.0 magnitude earthquake. ...

Good point, a knife made in Golden and initially sold direct off the Spyderco site would help speed up the process. Then they could expand sales through the usual dealer channels. This is going to be a long term relief effort and unfortunately, the public donations tends to dry up after it is no lo...

I think the rescue knife is a cool idea, - now I know this is a bit late, and these things take a lot of time and money, but what about a sprint run with some of the proceeds going to relief funds? The reason I say this instead of just purchasing the rescue knife, is that if we had a special color, ...

And you can always loosen or tighten the pivot to change the position of the blade as well as the loose-ness of the blade [decreasing/increasing friction between the blade/washer and the liner to a certain point - although given the pivot used on a manix 2, its not AS a problem]

I'm really looking forward to this knife exactly as the prototype looked at shot. Much like the lionsteel sr1, just make the glass breaker a personal removable choice and please give use the tools for it. Instead of a wooden box. I would like to see it come in something original like any type (pref...

There was a lot of negative stuff said, and a lot of positive/constructive stuff said about his reaction to the original text. And even his explanation as to why he jumped the gun [metaphor: alcohol is not an excuse], and others saying their piece, re: physics etc, and a lot more that has already be...

Well having a powdered steel will opt to give it a more refined, and equally distributed grain infrastructure. A powdered steel produces this homogenous dimension, that leads to a high quality steel with the characteristics soon to be mentioned; and with that homogenous/more equally distributed part...

There already are somewhat more exotic options out there. titanium made blades with carbide/tungsten at RC's in the 70s. Blades with carbon fiber laminates, the use of nitinol [acts like H1 in that its rust "proof"] etc etc. I assume that is what the future holds for us for the immediate a...

Depends on your approach. Some folks enjoy the hunt, others live for the kill. The first actually experience a let down when they fill all the slots in the "album" and there's nothing left to acquire. The second group sometimes pay absurd prices for things they need to move them closer to...
