Re: Back lock action

I still want to see how people are flicking their back locks with their pinkies... ;) As I was one of those (or even the only one?) who said he does so (or better just CAN do so, for I iactually never really use this method. It's definitely not practical by any means) let me repeat: Of course in a ...

Re: Flipper musings (Mantra 2)

Just remember to be smart about it. Go slow, take a little off and put it back to together and try it. You can even set the lock bar & ball on the hole to see how it's changed as you're doing it. I'll be interested to hear how you do. What I don't want to hear is that you got carried away tryin...

Re: Flipper musings (Mantra 2)

Yep, after fixing my Sliverax I took my Mantra apart with the intent to open the detent hole a little on that one. Turns out the detent ball was just really flat. I flipped it around and it much improved. I ended up putting it back together without opening the hole. No need for it at this point. I’...

Re: Flipper musings (Mantra 2)

I bought one recently too because of the price and I LOVE the design on this one. The action on my example is mediocre, the detent is on the weak side and it is easy to fail when flipping. I can get it to fire hard if I load up the flipper tab though. Do other people have this issue? If I could make...

Re: Centofante

I would love a combo of the Vesuvius with the Centofante 4- WHARNCLIFFE COMPRESSION LOCK!!! Keep the 2mm blade stock and the hollow grind, change to screw construction and wire clip! It would be cool to have ivory FRN with an abalone inlay to keep it classy, and I would also like to see the above co...

I’m in for a Delica, Dragonfly, and Ladybug no matter if it’s solid or laminated. That being said I find that I do like the look of the lamination line and I don’t mind scratches.. ;)

Can I get some good comparison pictures of this model with some other small spydies? Maybe a Dragonfly, Ladybug, Air, Delica? That would be appreciated! Thanks!
Too late tonight (10:55 PM local time) but i'll try to remember to do that tomorrow!
Hey Larry, still waiting on that pic! ;)

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

Interesting question.. I guess I would say VG10 for an all around steel, Cruwear for a tougher steel, and H1 (in SE) because, well it’s H1!

Or I could substitute CTS-XHP for VG10, M4 for Cruwear, and LC200N for H1... ugh why do you make his so hard Sal?!

I do hope there’ll be a bunch made first with FFG Lc200n and the same old style handles. That’ll please everyone.

This is what I’m hoping for too as I prefer the feel of the Endura 3 handle to the Endura 4 handle. Fingers crossed!

Re: Wow Pacific Salt is being discontinued.

Didn’t Sal mention somewhere the the Pacific Salt 2 would incorporate FFG but he planned to keep the same handle scales right away? I hope this is the case, as I like the Endura 3 handle more than the Endura 4. Edit: found the quote in the “LC200N Pacific Salt” thread I would like to make the first ...

Ordered a Mantra 2 from KC. $119 for M4, TI, and a wire clip? Why yes, yes I will.

I couldn’t pass this one up either. It will be my first Spyderco flipper and I have loved the sleek design ever since it was released.

I took a Dremel and sand paper to one of my LW Natives. With the rounded scales and somewhat of a rough (non-polished) texture, the plastic feels just like the FRN Delica.

Can you post some pictures of how this turned out? I would interested in seeing the finished product

Re: Ladybug VG10 FFG

Hi T-Mac, The Ladybug is pretty thin stock for a FFG for the masses, in my opinion. I designed the Manbug with a thicker stock to be the FFG Ladybug. ZDP is an exception, but, again, in my opinion, folks buying ZDP are more conscious of the limitations. sal I totally get that, and it makes sense to...
