Have you ever had a teflon washer fail on you?

Re: ATR ™ 2

Got it. It does have Teflon washers. Just wandering why $210+ Spyderco knife has washers as $10 gas station "Zomby apocalypses" masterpiece? Any engineering reason?

Re: ATR ™ 2

Just got ATR-2. It looks and feels like a great knife. Very smooth. But I am just curious does it have Teflon washers? I did not disassemble it but it looks like washers are white and made of plastic. Very strange. I hope that I am mistaken.

Re: ATR ™ 2

I was deciding between PM2 and ATR-2. Went to my local brick and mortar store and talked to the owner. I had a big desire to help local economy and support his small business. But he told me that he would not have a discount on ATR-2 and it is going to stay where it is. The difference is so huge. So...

Re: ATR ™ 2

Pulled the trigger on KC. Temptation was to strong. Hard to resist @$140. May have a buyer remorse later, but at least I would have a great knife with stand out design.

Re: ATR ™ 2

I actually was going to treat myself with ATR2 for Xmas. But since I do not have Para2 I am hesitant. The difference is almost $100. Is ATR is so much better?

Re: Spyderco civilian why not EDC?

I do not believe in the knife SD. And I certainly hope I will not be practicing one ever. But with Civilian I still do not make up my mind. I obviously can go with Matriarch per my local store owner advice. And I like Matriarch. But Civilian just somehow looks much cooler and it has some wow effect ...

Re: Spyderco civilian why not EDC?

Did anybody manage to snap the Civilian tip with the minimal torsion? I do not plan to use it for opening of tin cans BTW.

Re: Spyderco civilian why not EDC?

Thank you all. Like I said I love Civilian design and its look. And I was thinking to add it to my small collection. But since "collection" of knifes is kind of pointless, I like to use them from time to time for EDC on the rotation basis. But since I have no opportunity to hold it in hand...

Re: Spyderco civilian why not EDC?

Actually I am also curious would Spyderco sharpen the Civilian if it gets dull due to non self defense use?

Spyderco civilian why not EDC?

I apologize for my first posting on the board. I am fascinated with Spyderco Civilian design and I bitterly want to add it to my small collection but when I ask about it in my local knife store the store owner said that he does not have it in his inventory, since it is not a knife but rather a self ...
