I think we communicated a little bit about the cerakote but my suggestion would be to reach out to your local gun shops to see if any of them do cerakote. I get mine done by Tate at Black Boar Rifles in the neighboring town of Georgetown, TX.

Has anyone used the Venev Cerberus dual sided stones for the/on the KME? If so do you use the stone compensator attachment. That is a patina, nothing to worry about since you've removed the active 'red rust' with BKF already. That said, you need some kind of wax or chemical rust preventative in order to keep both forms of rust away. You can also force a patina potentially assuming the steel doesn't resist it too heavily...

I use homemade bat strops with cowhide leather from the local Tandy, smooth side always, with gunny diamond emulsion. I've cleaned them once with saddle soap and microfiber clothes and reloaded them. Don't have anything to compare them to but I know the end product is laser beams. Good luck with you...
