Re: Paramilitary 2 - New Sprints/Exclusives (2017)?
I'd keep an eye on the bf exchange, several come up there a week, prices seem to be pretty decent as well, I'm hoping for a Maxamet and K390 this year myself.

Re: Ultra-Classic Sprint Run?? Which Blade Steel?
Still like the old back lock Manix. I'm not insulting the new Manix, just still enjoying the old one. In particular the Cruwear sprint Manix I like to bring up ( every chance I get) and do hope for. I would love it to have the Native upgrades but for a one off sprint there would be less engineering...

Re: The Bushcraft
He used the spine of the blade to get make wood shavings, never seen that before! (5 min mark) I wonder if anyone would be concerned used a folder for that - Millie or PM2. I would assume the locks would be strong enough to take that lateral force. What do guys think - no no for a folder? Or, as lo...

Re: The PERFECT EDC knife is...
Small/Medium sized knives: PM2 & Southard
Large: Military and Manix 2 XL
Although the DF in ZDP-189 has been on my list for quite awhile, I generally go for knives in the 3.75-4.25" blade category, with the PM2 being one of the smallest I regularly carry.

Re: Maxamet vs Cruwear
I personally prefer the highest edge retention I can get, therefor I'd go for Maxamet over Cruwear for a folder/smaller blade. However, if you are at all considering going with both eventually, always go with the sprint, as it will be more difficult to get later and likely at a higher price, where a...

What steel is this in? Even though I have most of the versions I probably won't get this one if it's a steel I already have it in.

Re: Maxamet Knives Question
I seem to recall Sal saying the reason for just the two knives so far is because the stock they got in only came in the sheets thick enough to make these knives (as opposed to the thicker PM2 and Military blade stock) These are indeed regular production and I would guess that if they sell well enoug...

Re: Anyone game for a Compression Lock Military?
Not a tough decision for me, I'd prefer a compression lock anything, military, Manix, Manix XL, Tuff, Southard, ZT 0452, AFCK, TSEK

I voted yes, replace it with a "better" (IMO) all-arounder like M390/204P

Very excited to see more Maxamet, but will be waiting for the G10 version of the Manix, as well as the PM2 and Military, (hopefully Manix XL as well)

Re: Exotic Japanese steels
Anything high wear resistance (10V, S110V, Maxamet levels) I prefer EndurasEnduras, if limited to Japanese models, otherwise, military, paramilitary, and Manix XL.

Re: "I would buy a new Yojimbo 2 Sprint with....???"
I think something tough like 3V, Cruwear, or M4 would be a good choice to help reinforce the pointy tip and hollow grind

Ends today, there are several Spyderco models on Groupon, unfortunately it doesn't work on all of them, but the ones out does work on are pretty well priced, btw when I searched Groupon on my browser it only showed about 4, when I searched on the app it showed about 20

Re: BHQ Paramilitary 2 CPM M4 Exclusive.
Ordered mine around 11, picked it up about about 1:30 at the store. I talked to a very friendly and knowledgeable lady at the counter, she said they initially sold out of the run of 2300 (2x 1200 piece runs - 100CC pieces) in 2 or 3 hours, but because several customers ordered multiple times some on...

Re: 3V
I don't think there's much need for it in folders that aren't also meant to be beefy tanks like the Tuff, strider smf, Benchmade adamas, ect. But I'd rather have better edge holding than the extra toughness on slicers like the military
