Good advice, also keep in mind s30v takes a lot longer to sharpen than the other knives you are sharpening. You should be able to get it pretty sharp with the normal rod. In fact I would use something more coarse to start. Don't try to switch to the fine rods too soon. I would do 40 degrees and just...

On the new xhp CF chaparral I kind of tried to remove the lettering. Love the knife but it was so hard to open, I thought the raised lettering and tight fit was creating extra friction. I took it apart to have full access to the blade and ground both sides on a DMT double sided sharpener. I used the...

You are correct, just because it's hard to open does not make it a bad knife. That's a subjective preference and I'm sure many people prefer a more secure set up. I also realize a light weight backlock is harder to flick open. But I have no problem flicking open my frn, g10, and SS dragonflys. Other...

I have one in xhp CF and returned one, first one was impossible to flick open and the second one is only a tiny bit better. As far as the steel and edge holding, it seems outstanding and similar to zdp189 but I cant tell much difference between s30v and the xhp. The smoothness is more of a concern, ...

some people prefer smaller knives and some larger, the PM2 appeals to both groups. Combine the size with high quality materials and craftsmanship at a very competitive street price and you get a very popular knife. Low supply and high demand, plus some limited editions making everything more collect...
